Character building is the most important aspect of a human life. Our character reflects our personality. While character development is an ongoing process we must always be careful as what to do and what not to do.

There are seven kind of Sins we come across in our life long journey and should try to not indulge ourselves in those sins. Each of the sins can be over come by some positive virtues of life.

  • Pride

Pride is feeling of happiness which we get by achieving something we want. But when this pride takes the form of selfishness and we start boasting about what we have it becomes a sin. Our pride should not make the other feel bad about them.

We should control our ego and self boastfulness to control our pride.

  • Greed

Greed is the desire to want more in terms of materialistic things. Instead of being satisfied with what we have in out possession greed makes our demands unlimited and obviously we can never have everything and so greed leaves us unhappy forever.

In order to control greed we must be contented with our own possessions.

  • Lust

Lust is the demand that is so strong that it becomes our passion especially when the demand is fot sexual pleasure.

One need to control our lust we need to manifest our energy in pursuing love, faith and hope

  • Envy

Envy or jealousy is the wrong feeling of sadness we experience when someone else achieves something good. We secretly wish to get the thing or even worse we pray that the other person somehow looses his possession.

Envy doesn't let us be happy seeing others climbing the ladder of success.

Instead we should be kind and sympathetic in our approach towards others. Others success should inspire us to work hard and be successful ourselves.

  • Gluttony

Excess of anything is not good. So is the case of food and drinks. The habit of eating excess food than what is optimal for our body or drinking ( especially alcoholic drinks) is counted under the sin Gluttony.

The practice and habit of staying fit and healthy is what required to stop gluttony. Regular work outs and physical exercise develops in us the want to stay fit.

  • Wrath

Wrath or anger is the strong dislike we have for our fellow humans. If the other person doesn't act according to our conception and we are not happy with their conduct we usually get angry and our anger only leads to destruction.

But instead being angry we must be patient enough to understand the other person's perspective. Being a little patient help control our anger in the heat of the moment.

  • Sloth

Sloth is the laziness we have within us. Laziness is the easy option to choose where we don't need to do any hard work. But that is not the way to live life.

A little ant teaches us the right way of living which is being active.

We can overcome sloth by utilising our free time in doing things in interest of others.
