Hello everyone,
Hope you all are fine.
Today's topic is a bit different and unusual topic. I know you all must be well aware about the meaning of word βInfluenceβ but are you aware of the fact that how it can sometimes become a trap in which you can fall, or maybe some of you might have already fallen in it, still you won't realize until it's an important decision you have been influenced for.
We all, in our life, come across situations where we have to take a stand. For instance, when there's a debate competition and you have to opt for or against, and you decide on your stand on the basis of your understanding of that topic. The same goes for situations, and decisions we have to make in those particular situations. And that's where you might get influenced with others around you, or what they say to you, or what they are doing. And this is the time when you need to think wisely. Usually youngsters get influenced easily, and then they go for the wrong things. I think most of you must be familiar with the fact that some students choose a stream based on what their friends are choosing, and then when they can't study properly, it becomes a big problem for them. You can't understand something by heart, or even by mind, when you have not chosen it by your choice.
If you have decided on something, and you are 99.9% sure about it, but suddenly someone known to you says something, there are chances that you might change your decision. I am not saying that you cannot change your decisions, or that you should stick to what you have once decided. You can and you should change your decision if the thing you are changing to is right for you or your future. You should take advice from others, or what they say, or what they are doing, or what is their perspective, but being influenced means when someone indirectly/directly convinces you for their stand on that thing, and you get convinced without actually thinking if it's right. That's not something intelligent and wise people do. If you are already convinced about your stand on that point, then how can you get influenced with what others have to say about it? Think about it.
Moreover, not only our decisions, but sometimes we get influenced through what social media shows about something. Let's say, when there's an incident shared by someone on social media, and you are partially on one side, it might be because of what you think or sometimes even what your intuition says. But then, you see some posts and stories about the same, and you start to feel that if what you have thought of it might not be right. This is how you get influenced in other ways.
According to me, sometimes we should not come to any conclusion at an early stage. Also, we should first try to know the whole story behind what is shown or told to us through social media, or someone known to us. Follow the facts, and figures, and then make your decision, or stand on anything. Sometimes, influences can be helpful also, but not every time, and even if it might be helpful, you should still think properly as to what is right and what is wrong.
Thank you.
