Hello everyone! In this blog is about ghee…

Ghee is butter. Ghee contains no cholesterol. A person who eats ghee regularly does not develop any problems related to heart disease. In fact, ghee is good for people suffering from cardiovascular diseases.

In Ayurveda ghee is considered as one of the best medicines. There have been many studies conducted regarding the effects of eating ghee every day. These studies show that regular intake of ghee helps control diabetes. Eating ghee regularly reduces anxiety.Ghee is a natural anti-depressant. It also lowers high blood pressure and aids weight loss.

How Does ghee Help?

The active ingredients in ghee help reduce cholesterol levels in our body. Ghee consists of about 80% saturated fat. Saturated fats lower ‘bad’ (LDL) cholesterol while increasing ‘good’ (HDL) cholesterol. Fats make food taste yummy. When we eat fatty foods, they trigger the release of insulin which makes us feel full. Insulin triggers muscle cells to burn calories. So, when we consume a small amount of fat along with carbohydrates, our body burns carbs instead of storing them as fat. Therefore, we lose weight faster than if we had dieted only without eating fat.

Health Benefits of Ghee:

Reduces Cholesterol Levels

Helps Lowers Blood Pressure

Controls Diabetes

Treats Anxiety

Good Source of Omega Fatty Acids

May Reduce Weight Gain

Improves Sleep Quality

Strengthens Bones

Ghee is clarified butter. It’s been used for thousands of years in Indian and Ayurvedic medicine because of its high concentration of vitamins A & D. It contains no calories and is cholesterol-free. It’s made by heating milk until the water evaporates, leaving just fat.Because of its long shelf life, it’s ideal for cooking and baking.

How To Make Homemade Ghee At Home:

While regular dairy produce does not need to be refrigerated, ghee should be stored in the fridge or freezer to maintain quality. However, if you want to store it longer than 30 days, keep it in a cool dark place, away from direct sunlight.

To make homemade ghee at home, start by melting a stick of butter over low heat in a heavy bottomed saucepan. As soon as it starts bubbling, remove it from the stove top and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then turn off the heat.

Next, take a strainer, line it with a non-reactive kitchen towel or paper towel, and set it on top of your melted butter. Leave it alone for half an hour. Take out the strainer and put the butter back on the stove. Let it melt again until it begins to bubble.Once it bubbles, turn off the heat and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Now strain the liquid through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer lined with cloth towels like non-woven cotton fabric. Discard the solids left behind. Your homemade ghee should now look clear and golden yellow, with no sediment.Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
