Hello everyone! In this blog is about red fruits and vegetables….
Here's a list of some of the most popular red fruits and vegetables :
Red Apples:
Red apples have a high amount of antioxidants called phenolic compounds. These are powerful anti-inflammatory agents that help fight cancerous cells. In addition, they provide many vitamins A, C, E, K, and beta carotene. One apple contains about 1 mg of vitamin C.
Strawberries:
Strawberries are loaded with vitamin C, iron, and fiber. They also have a great deal of antioxidants called anthocyanins. Anthocyanins prevent free radicals from causing damage to DNA and may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Pomegranates:
Pomegranate’s colorful outer layer, the rind, contains plenty of antioxidants called ellagitannins. These protect our bodies from aging, cancer, and heart disease. Pomegranates are also rich in vitamin C, folate, and potassium. One cup (155 g) of pomegranates provides about 100% of the Daily Value (DV) for vitamin C.
Tomatoes:
Tomatoes are loaded with lycopene, a powerful antioxidant. Lycopene helps keep blood vessels flexible and strong, which may lower the chance of having a stroke. Studies show that tomatoes are good at lowering cholesterol levels. One tomato provides 0.8 mg of lycopene per serving.
Beetroot :
Beets are very dark in color. The red color comes from betalains, pigments that protect them from damage. Most people don't think about eating beets until they bite into a raw beet root and find out how sweet they taste! Beets have been around since ancient times. They were first cultivated over 5,000 years ago in China and have been grown and consumed for their nutritional value. Unlike many other vegetables, beets actually grow best in cool weather. In order to get the most nutrition out of beets, they need to be cooked thoroughly, meaning that they should not be eaten raw.
Red Bell Pepper:
A good way to describe a Red Bell Pepper is how an apple smells...sweet. A sweet fruity smell mixed with a hint of vegetal. Red peppers have been cultivated since ancient times, yet were not widely consumed until only recently. Today they are very popular due to their vibrant colors, unique taste, and relatively low cost compared to green chilies.
Red Radishes :
Red radishes are among the best-tasting root crops. These super veggies have a delicious flavor and crunchy texture. They're great fresh out of the garden or cooked!
Red chillies:
Red chillies are dried unripe chillis and are used in cooking. They have a high level of capsaicin, which creates a burning sensation in the mouth. Red chilli is commonly added to curries and soups, although they may also be eaten raw. Chilli peppers are not just spicy foods, they are rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K, folate, lutein, beta-carotene, and fiber.
