Hello everyone! In this blog is about traffic rules..
Speed limits:
The speed limit is set out by law and if not followed, could result in being stopped by police officers. In most states, the speed limit for cars is much higher than for motorcycles and bicycles. Many people who ride bikes assume they don’t need to abide by traffic laws, but it’s important to remember these laws apply to everyone, including bicyclists.
Lane Use:
Lane use refers to how you should share the road with other vehicles. You should avoid driving closer to the curb than necessary. Driving close to the curb increases the risk of hitting parked cars, pedestrians, curbside posts and utility poles, and any other objects that may fall onto the roadway. Drive at least three feet away from the curb. It's best to stay in the center of the lane whenever possible. When passing slower-moving vehicles or turning left or right, drive no closer than two car lengths past them. If you cannot pass safely, pull over to the side of the road and wait until they move past.
Traffic signals:
When approaching red lights, stop signs, or yield signs, make sure to obey the sign. Slow down before entering intersections and don't enter those roads until the intersection is clear of all traffic. Be aware of what is going on around you as well. Watch for children running across streets or animals crossing the street and do not attempt to overtake others.
Turning right:
You have the right to turn right on a private driveway or public sidewalk, provided you give way to pedestrians or motorists using crosswalks or pedestrian walkways. However, you may not turn right in front of a school bus loading zone or in front of a school drop off area. Give yourself plenty of time to make right turns. Make sure to look carefully for school buses when making a right hand turn.
Turning left:
To turn left, go straight ahead then turn right after you've passed the point where you want to turn left. Turn left only one block before an intersection unless otherwise specified by sign. Don't turn left into a parking lot or into a gas station. Never turn left in a blind spot; always check behind you. Remember, even though many drivers believe that cyclists are not expected to follow traffic laws, the truth is that just about every cyclist breaks the same laws that motor vehicle drivers do.
School zones:
School zones are meant to keep children safe by enforcing strict traffic laws regarding speed limits and other issues. Never speed through school zones, even if you are passing someone who isn’t following the speed limit. Even a small amount of speeding can cause serious injury to a child.
Always buckle up.
Whether you're driving a car, motorcycle, moped, bicycle, skateboard, or scooter, buckling up is imperative. A seatbelt keeps you secure and your limbs protected.
Thank you.
