When we're feeling down, stressed, sad, frustrated, angry, etc., we often feel like our body language says something negative about us which makes people feel inferior. However, if you look at the world around you, it's actually pretty rare to find someone who doesn't have some sort of emotion going on.

So, how do you decide whether someone is giving you signals that they disapprove of you?

If they've got nothing nice to say about you,chances are you won't hear anything good said about you either.

But, if you're having trouble deciding whether someone wants to be treated well, here are a few ways to figure out the answer:

If you want to know what others think of you, just listen to how they talk about you behind your back.If they've got nothing nice to say about you, chances are you won't hear anything good said about you either.

Listen to everything they tell you:

I remember having a conversation with my best friend about her ex-boyfriend, and she told me a story that he would always complain about his relationship status being listed as single on Facebook. But, when she asked him directly, he said he had no problem with it and didn't care if anyone knew. She was confused until she realized that he wanted to have both options available so that he could choose whichever option he wanted. He didn't want to commit to anyone one way or the other. This proves that he wasn't really interested in being in a serious relationship with her, but he did want a choice in the matter.

Notice if they share similar interests:

A lot of time, people get close to those who share similar interests. That's not necessarily bad, especially if you enjoy doing things together. But, if you notice that your significant other only shares your interest with you when they want something then that's a red flag that they might not be fully invested in the relationship.

Notice if you're constantly buying gifts for them:

It may sound weird, but sometimes people are attracted to people who give them gifts. In fact, research shows that men tend to like women who buy them gifts more than women do. Do you ever notice that your partner seems to like receiving gifts more than giving them? If so, maybe it's time for you to start thinking about finding different gifts for them.

Watch if they express concern about your feelings:

Some people are much more concerned about your happiness than they are about their own. Even though they may try to hide it, they'll usually make sure that you're okay before getting down to business.
