Introduction:
Bohr model of the atom was proposed by Neil Bohr in 1915. It appeared with the alteration of Rutherford's model of an iota. Rutherford's model presented the atomic model of a atom, where he clarified the atomic model of a atom, where he clarified that a core(emphatically charged) is encircled by adversely charged electrons.
Bohr changed this nuclear design model by clarifying the electrons move in fixed orbitals (shells) and not anyplace in the middle and he likewise clarified that each circle(shell) has a fixed energy level. Rutherford essentially clarified the core of a molecule and Bohr adjusted that model into electrons and their energy levels.
Bohr's model comprises of a little core (emphatically charged) encompassed by adverse electrons moving around the core circles. Bohr tracked down that an electron found away from the core has more energy, and electrons near the core have less energy.
Proposes of Bohr's Model of an Atom:
In an iota, electrons(contrarily charged)rotate around the emphatically charged core in a distinct round way called circles or shells.
Each circle or shell has a fixed energy and these round circles are known as orbital shells.
The energy levels are addressed by a number(n=1,2,3…)known as the quantum numbers. Tis scope of quantum number beginnings from core side with n=1 having the most minimal energy level. The circles n-1,2,3,4…. are appointed as K,L,M,N…. shells and when an electron accomplishes the most minimal energy level, it is supposed to be in the ground state.
The electrons in an iota move from a lower energy level to a higher energy level by acquiring the necessary energy and an electron moves from a higher energy level to bring down energy level by losing energy.
Summary:
1] Bohr uses the emission spectrum of hydrogen to develop a model for Hydrogen.
2] Bohr postulated that electron moves around the nucleus in circular orbits.
3] Bohr model determines the radius of each circular electron orbit.
4] Bohr calculated the energy of electron in various orbits.
5] Offered a satisfactory model for explaining the spectra of the hydrogen atom.
6] Only certain orbits can exist and each orbit corresponds to a specific energy.
7] Electron Energy is Quantized.
