Once upon a time there was a little girl who had to attend a retreat.
It was a school retreat which was compulsory and she couldn't give any excuses for not going.
Since she was not at all interested in the retreat she thought and thought of a plan not to go for it.
Finally she came up with an Idea !!!
Her plan was to inform the headmistress of the school that she had a family function to attend on that same day .
So according to her plan she did go to the headmistress . The headmistress was a little hesitant at first ,but at the same time she couldn't force the little girl to miss her family function and attend the retreat . So she gave her permission not to attend the retreat.
The little girl was so happy that she jumped with joy.😁
But this joy didn't last for long.
For her bad luck the retreat date had been changed due to some reasons at the retreat center .
The little girl was so mad at her luck but she couldn't do anything about it.
Anyways she attended the retreat and she was not at all interested like before.
On reaching the retreat center they told all the kids to gather in one room.
The priest in charge of the retreat spoke about the rules and regulations for the days they would be there and about the activities that would be taking place .
The little girl didn't pay even a little bit of attention to all this going on.
So then later they were all shifted to another room for a discussion.
On the way to the other room the little girl was talking to her friend and the priest came from behind in a friendly way and asked “can I know to what you were talking about” .
The little girl first thought that she'll tell , but then she thought that why should she tell.
So she went on to say “ don't you know it's bad manners to hear another's conversation ” .
Her friend was embarrassed at this statement of her's and tried to keep her quite .
But since the priest was friendly he added " but God gave me ears to hear so I heard what you said.
The little girl didn't stop at that. She added that “ if God gave you ears to hear , he gave me a mouth to speak ”.
On hearing this the priest laughed out loudly ,but he had nothing else to say to the child at that time.
Well , the little girl was right after all.
The retreat continued and it went boring as ever for the little girl .
At last when it was time to go back the little girl jumped with joy hoping that the retreat would not extend for another day .
But then she realises that the retreat wasn't that bad how she thought it would be . She actually had a lot of fun and decided to go there once again in the near future.
