Are You A Toxic Parent?

Toxic parenting in India

Today in India, why most parents are toxic even in a literate state like Kerala? If children do not obey, spank them. Make them tremble by saying their father's name or mother's name. Forbid children from doing as they wish. Force everyone to fear and grow up with respect, this is the current practice today.

Even as you grow up, there are certain sayings you keep hearing from your parents. We all lived in fear of our father. But, is this really parenting? Why do many people raise their children to be toxic, no matter how much education they get? Let's see what the symptoms of toxic parenting are.

Parents’ mindset is that children must live for us, or children must live for our will. We have to tie the girl we like. Parents should choose a job they like because parents who force their children to study their favourite subject do not give any importance to their children's preferences. Self-centredness, self-esteem, and self-esteem are symptoms of toxic parents.

There are many parents who are very cruel even for the slightest disobedience. Many people do not realize that parents who try to make their children obedient by beating them from a young age by breaking the stick and getting it in their hands are toxic. The use of abusive language, verbal abuse, etc. is a symptom of toxic parenting.

Be quiet with children if they do something. Not feeding them is not because the parents are good, but a sign of toxicity.

Parents throw accusations at their children like they're incompetent, my life has been ruined since I met you, and you are useless – these are definitely a part of toxic parenting.

Toxic Parenting Destroys Adolescence

Parents can also be toxic with the goal of disciplining their children. Everyone's misconception is that toxic parenting is real parenting. Parents misunderstand that their children will be respected if they behave in this way. But if the parents are not able to be close to their daughter with proper love and care, many defects are likely to occur in the growing children.

Children are likely to develop violent behaviour. I mean, we have all heard the Hitler story. It was the abuse from his parents when he was young that made Hitler cruel. Similarly, there is a possibility of harming others and being unloving and cruel to one's spouse. They are also more likely to become criminals and sexually deviant in the future.

How to do good parenting

Children have the same right to freedom as we do. Set them free. We should not feel that parents are cruel, but we should be able to behave with them like a friend. But children try to tell us everything freely. Encourage children according to their abilities. Don't give mental pressure at a young age. Allow doing favourite activities. Let them choose the career of their choice. Only the young generation who feel that they are getting such freedom can develop their own opinion, outlook on life and empathy. Grow yourself...

Thank you for your patience.
