What Is The Difference Between Film Tourism And Film Production And Why Are Both Important? Part 2

This Hollywood film was made in 1965.  The film won five Oscars and was the most successful film of all time at the box office.  The biggest beneficiary of this success, which has got and will continue to be received, is Salzburg.

In fact, as the family film made a splash and American tourists began to head to Salzburg, the people responsible for Salzburg's tourism not only understood the tourists' desire but also made tours of the film's shooting locations.  The garden in which the heroine danced with the children, the church where she got married and the sights that were part of the film were all included in the tour.

From narrating the music of the film to the guides dressing up the characters to connect tourists to the story of the film, and a 'Sound of Music' dinner with the cast performing in the film's musical sequences, tourism also became a part of the tour.  Millions of tourists still ' sound Arrive in Salzburg to live the 'Of Music'.

Similarly 'Harry Potter' in England and 'The Lord of Riggs' in New Zealand have attracted millions.  The biggest thing is the filming of the sights in the film, the success of the film, and then the thinking of tourism promotion.  One such example is a small hotel in Jaipur, which is very close to the headquarters of Rajasthan tourism.

Being the shooting location of 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', this hotel became so famous that foreign tourists take bookings there directly.  Due to the movie 'Slumdog Millionaire', Mumbai's slum Dharavi and Dhobi Ghat are also included in the sights of those staying in luxurious hotels.

If revenue can be raised from films through their heritage, then it must be done, but the process of permission should be simplified and legal protection should also be ensured.  The fees for government buildings for films are low, but the fees for historical buildings owned by private trusts and hotel companies are high, which should be reduced.

Recently in Ranthambore, I got a chance to know about the problems faced by two foreign eminent wildlife filmmakers and realized that everyone has different needs.  Film tourism is a different topic.  It will also be necessary to think about what kind of films will be allowed and what kind of permission in the protected forest areas.

Two victims cannot be killed with one arrow.  Film tourism is different and film production is different, so effort and collaboration will also have to be done in different ways.
