It is a story about a girl who belongs to a middle - class family somewhere in India. Her story consists of two parts named “ Then ” and “ Now . “ Let's start with ” Then " first.
She was a lean and thin girl in her childhood. She was an introvert girl who likes to live in her own secretive way or the one who enjoys her own company. She was afraid to talk to people at parties , at social gatherings etc. She opened up with people to whom she was comfortable to talk to. She had a very close group of 3 friends at her school. She did not like to study very much. Though she was a good student at the school.
Whenever she was asked to study at home, every time she writes about what she learns. Her parents were very worried about her studies, they thought that will she be able to study after class 12th ? Their words were ‘ Bhagwaan jaane ye kya karegi school ke baad ? ’ What she did you will come to know in her “ Now ” story. She had a good life at school. She had a dream of becoming a Lawyer after 12th grade. So, she told everyone who asked her about her dream, she said that she wants to become a lawyer like her father and wanted to do legal practicing under him.
So, she finished her schooling ‘ jaise - taise.' Now, the question comes of ‘ What she will do in college ? ‘ As mentioned earlier that she wanted to become a “ Lawyer ” as her father. But apparently, she was convinced by her parents and relatives to change her stream from “ Commerce ” to “ Arts ” because her relatives thought that she is an introvert and said ’ ye to ghar mein kam bolti hai “ Law ” karne ke baad court mein kya bolegi ? ‘ After this, she thought that ‘ shayad, ye log sach bol rahe hain ’ and she changed her stream to “ Arts ” and took English literature as her main subject because she liked the English language a lot from school time.
She went to college being an introvert who didn't have any of her school friends with her. On the first day of college, she introduced herself with a bunch of unknown people who were there in her class. That was one of the biggest achievement of her life ( i.e. talking to a bunch of unknown people in a single day was her biggest task at that time which she achieved at her first day of college ). She changed a lot in her college days. She is having a bigger circle of friends in her college. She is now studying in college and getting good grades. She is changing herself from an introvert to an extrovert.She is now not afraid of talking to people because she had done many presentations in her class by speaking in front of many people. Gradually, her college days were coming to an end. She finally did her Graduation and Post - graduation in English Literature. She is now a completely changed person from her school time. She is more confident now and an outspoken person.
But now, her parents were somewhat worried that ‘ what she is going to do now after completing 5 years of college ? ’ She didn't have a plan now she had a completely different stream and as well as she has some knowledge of that stream. One day she thought that she loves writing very much and earlier also she had written many Articles, Newsletters etc in her college days. So, she decided to become an English Content Writer. As soon as she decides to become an English Content Writer. She thought that she won't be able to work properly at an office if she gets selected as an English Content Writer because recently her mother had a brain and spinal surgery and she needs someone 24 hours with her. So, she decided to work from home. She searched a lot of websites who were offering jobs as an English Content Writer but she couldn't get selected in that due to some reasons as it is a world of competition. So, she decides to make a page on Facebook and started working on it. And she is working happily from home and as well as she is taking care of her mother too.
Through this, I want to tell that situations and circumstances change a person a lot. And also the girl which is mentioned in the story is named as Darshana Verma who is apparently to be “ Me ” :-D
