Let's Talk About Ourselves: Because No One Else Will

This blog is a small attempt to talk about motivation, fears, success and failures.This is first in a series of blogs where we will talk about us, if a topic feels complicated you will find an example close by, so enjoy

Fears

To talk about motivation and missing on talking about fear would be the same as going onto the pitch to bat and forgetting the bat in the hotel room. Being successful is not the absence of fear, it is all about transforming your relationship with fear.

At some point or other, we feel fear, but fear does not at all mean stop (obviously that's a choice), it just means proceed with caution or rather proceed with strategy.

A notion is groomed and instilled in all of us right from the day we start learning that strong men & women do not feel fear, this is a delusion we are taught to live in. According to numerous studies conducted over centuries, everyone feels fear, it is just another emotion and rather than fleeing, we should accept it because we don't succeed despite fear, we succeed in face of it and by conquering it.

Fear is a powerful tool, it's okay to feel fear.

The "SELF" analysis

SELF IDEAL = I DREAM

Who are our idols, who do we admire and why? This can be explained by the concept of “Self-Ideal”, they are the qualities and attributes one admires and believes should exist in a perfect person. This is your vision of your future self.

SELF IMAGE = I THINK

Self Image is what you think of yourself as of now, this very moment, that image of yourself you have within you, which only you know. There is a gap between the Ideal and Image and that gap is the “Growth journey”. We strive all our lives to achieve what we think is ideal.

SELF ESTEEM = I FEEL

Self Esteem is how you feel about yourself, what positives and negatives you can draw when asked “Tell me something positive and negative about yourself?”. The positive is what you hold on to and the negative is what needs working on. If you haven't decided on them yet, go get a pen and a paper and start jotting it down.

SELF CONFIDENCE = I DO

Self Confidence is the most important part of the arduous journey called LIFE. If you do not believe in the saying “ You are the hero of your Life”, then there is a hint of low self-confidence in there. To build self-confidence you need to start loving yourself with deeper inner faith in the processes and strategies you formulate to move from the envisioned self to being that self.
