Meera's 6th-grade final exams ended, and she got very excited for her summer vacation. Sadly, her mom planned her swimming and dancing classes for the summer holidays, which disappointed Meera. Instead, she had plans to visit her grandmother, who lives in the beautiful countryside situated about 140kms from their place. The unhappy Meera rushed to her dad and cried out loud, sharing her ideas about her vacation and what her mother had actually planned. Soon after, she ran to her room, locking the door and sat dejected, starring outside the window. A bit later, she heard a knock on her door, it was her mom, holding a plate of her favourite snacks and told her that her summer vacation plan had changed and that they would visit her grandmother in the countryside to celebrate her birthday and spend her vacation. On hearing that, Meera rushed outside and hugged her mom and told all about her plan in detail, having the little chocolate cupcake from the plate brought by her mom. The happy Meera went back to her room and started packing her luggage to leave for the countryside the next morning. She was too excited to meet her grandmother and did not sleep the whole night thinking about how wonderful her vacation would be. The following day, as planned, Meera's dad drove the family to the countryside.

The little Meera got very excited on seeing her grandmother and ran towards her with a big smiling face. The grandmother hugged her tight, and happy tears began to flow from her eyes. Everybody was super happy as the family got united after a long time. Few days passed, and one fine afternoon Meera found a little cute white puppy wounded and limping on the roadside.

The puppy's state shattered her heart, and she soon ran towards it and took it into her arms and rushed back home. Meera's parents and grandmother were surprised to see the little puppy in her hand, and they soon got the wounds cleaned, dressed them and took care of it by arranging a small bed for it to rest.

Meera felt very sad thinking about the puppy's state and started spending more time with it. She named him jack and started taking care of him every day, and eventually got attached to him. She soon became a Cynophilist. After a week, Jack got perfectly fine, and the family wanted to give him to their neighbours who already had pets. But Meera cried and insisted on taking him home and making him stay with their family. Meera's mom did not like the idea of taking it home because she thought that there would be no one to take proper care of it. The little Meera said that she would take all the responsibility to look after Jack. Unfortunately, Meera's parents did not like the idea as they thought that Meera was too young to manage everything and asked their neighbours to take Jack with them and raise him. Meera felt very sorry for Jack and stood helpless throughout. The day ended, and Meera went to bed with a heavy heart missing Jack already. 

The next day was Meera's birthday, and the family had many plans to celebrate it and make it a memorable day for her. The sun rose, and Meera heard the knock-knock sound on her door; she opened the door and, to her surprise, found the little cute white puppy, Jack, with a huge red bow tied on his neck in a little decorated basket. Meera took him into her hands, kissed him and went running to her grandmother, mom, dad and thanked them all. Meera's mother asked her to give the full credits to the grandmother, saying it was her idea to make it the most memorable birthday. 

The beautiful love between Jack and Meera grew deeper and deeper as days passed by, and eventually, Jack became a part of the happy family photo.
