Hii buddies….👋🏻. This is my another blog🤩. Hope you all do well✌️. In this blog we know about the Peacock Mantis Shrimp. This is my one of the favourite animal🤩. Anyway let's go to the topic🦐.

Peacock Mantis Shrimp(Odontodactylus Scyllarus)

The large stomatopod Odontodactylus scyllarus, also known as the peacock mantis shrimp, harlequin mantis shrimp, painted mantis shrimp, clown mantis shrimp, or rainbow mantis shrimp, is a native of the epipelagic seabed throughout the Indo-Pacific, from Guam to East Africa and as far south as Northern KwaZulu Natal in South Africa.

The peacock mantis shrimp, can swing its front appendage, or club, at rates of up to 50 mph, or about the same as a 22-caliber bullet.

Manits Shrimp

The Indian and Pacific Oceans have warm waters where this species can be found. The peacock mantis shrimp mainly eats gastropods, crabs,Large fish, cuttlefish, squid, octopuses and mollusks but is capable of killing prey that is bigger than it.

The famous peacock mantis shrimp can be challenging to keep in captivity since they frequently consume other species and have the ability to break glass aquariums with their claws.

Peacock Mantis Shrimp(With Body Colour)

They are so vibrant because it helps in mating. The mantis shrimp can identify the colors on the body because they emit light at certain wavelengths.

They also employ their fluorescent hues to visually alert the local predators of their presence.

Powerful hunters, peacock mantis shrimp consume a variety of hard-shelled invertebrates as well as certain fish.

Peacock Mantis Shrimp

Normally, mantis shrimp reach lengths of 2 to 7 inches.

Dracula Ant

With the quickest animal limb known to science, the dracula ant beats the mantis shrimp.

The Dracula ant can strike three times quicker than the previous record and 5,000 times faster than the speed of light. A Dracula ant's mouth can accelerate from zero to 200 miles per hour in 0.000015 seconds. The reason why draconic ants are thus named is because they occasionally consume the blood of their own young.

Peacock Mantis Shrimp

In addition to being extremely clever, they also have superb visibility that can detect light in the ultraviolet as well as the visible spectrum.

They can see UV, visible, and polarized light and contain up to 16 photoreceptors.

In fact, they are the only creatures that have been found to recognize circularly polarized light, which is light in which the wave component spins in a circle. They can also move each eye independently and experience depth with one eye.
