 Badminton Game was invented in India in a version called 'POONA'. The Duke of Beaufort who lived in Gloucestershire, in England is generally accepted as the father of Badminton. The roots of this sport are traced to ancient Greece, China, and India. This game was once known as Battledore and Shuttlecock. 

Badminton game has a lot of benefits to our whole body, but very few know about it. So let's just see how it is beneficial to everyone adults and children as well. Badminton can be a fantastic alternative to your usual fitness gymming. 

  1. Playing a game of Badminton can help you burn around 450 calories an hour. The movements provided while playing the game provide a powerful cardio workout by engaging the entire body. Thus it aids in weight loss.
  2. There is a whole lot of responsibilities, works on our heads and in this busy schedule it is difficult to do a much of physical activities exercising. Badminton is a fun sport that one can enjoy in their busy schedule. 
  3. Playing badminton decreases the levels of ‘Bad’ cholesterol and improves the levels of good cholesterol. This then leads to reduce risk of hypertension, heart attack, and stroke.
  4.  Badminton can increase life expectancy by over three years since badminton increases the heart rate and reduce breathlessness. 
  5. Badminton is a Flexible exercise as it involves swinging and reach of the player, which in turn develops flexibility. 
  6. This game or sport increases bone density as it promotes the growth of bone-forming cells and the increased demand for oxygen while playing leads to increased blood circulation and hence it increases metabolic rate.
  7.  It helps to tone your muscles by cutting down the excess fat especially the butt, hamstrings, quads, and glutes.
  8. Playing badminton immensely enhances your reflexes, improves your speed and corresponding motor coordination.
  9. The badminton game acts as a good stressbuster and it cures Hypertension.
  10. Badminton also helps build focus and improve your concentration as it helps develop strong flexes and stimulates brain activity. 
  11. A badminton match produces endorphin, which makes your brain feel good and happy.
  12. Badminton game sweats you up a lot which turns to decreases the diabetics inside our body.

The answer to all the problems like depression, anxiety, hypertension, stress, etc. is playing Badminton. It keeps you feeling well, motivated, strong, and young. It also helps you enjoy  better sleep.  So just skip hard exercising in the gym and switch to an easy game.
