I have no, in fact zero expectation from Ekta Kapoor, but surprisingly with talented cast like Vikrant Massey and Harleen Sethi to do complete justice to the series. With great music composition, I have fallen for Broken But Beautiful 1 and 2 series. I have seen a pattern not only with Balaji production or particularly this series, but in general with Bollywood, if any movie or series, unexpectedly with new cast did well, the next thing they do is casting hyped up faces, to do commercial success and ultimately ruin the movie or series.
I felt exactly the same with BBB (Broken But Beautiful 3) series. Though I have not found yet any review, that have found any flaw in the show, in fact people are going gaga about the season 3. But, I felt this season was nothing but gained success, only because of Siddharth Shukla fan base. And this was exactly the reason of casting him, his popularity in BB. Sonia Rathee and supporting cast was amazing, being a debutant Sonia Rathee was fabulous.
But the story line has nothing new to offer us, Agastya Roy character played by Siddharth Shukla, someone full of passion, believes in living minimalist life and not interested in commercial movies, he maintains low profile and works hard to bring theater to new heights. On the other hand, Rumi a rich kid (as always both coming from different strata of society) with her own insecurities, always comes up with new interest just to fit in or to prove someone. Basically, Sonam Kapoor in Aisha, with more messed up personal life.
Same old plot, balance personality, real, with immature, insecure, lost personality, falls in love in most unexpected way. ‘’We will keep it casual'' but ultimately falls in love, not realizing at the same time. Because, of un matching time in realization of love for each other creates the whole freaking drama. No, doubt there are emotions in the series but less emotions in acting also no fresh content to keep you intact in the series.
Honestly, I did not see any new expression or acting in Siddharth Shukla. Left like watching Big Boss, basically he was playing himself, especially in the scenes where no emotions requires. And the most disaster was his shifts from a angry young man, passionately and madly in love, in self-harm mood to someone matured, clam and sensible. God!!! I am sorry, but his acting was so fake. May be this could have worked but in today's time where actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Raj kumar Rao, Vickey Kashual etc. dominating the show with natural and EFFORTLESS acting, I won't be able to accept that ‘’Siddharth Shukla nailed the character Agastya Roy''.
Why my review is focused on Siddharth Shukla? Because, I feel he was over-praised and making lot of noise unnecessarily for playing Agastya Roy.
