hi friends, it's a long time I had to write a blog so I hope you are doing well.

let's start our today topic which is based upon milk and milk products adulteration.

friends milk is very basic food and most important food in health point of view. we can use milk in making tea, coffee, and sweets. other than milk being consumed for better health. we give milk to children for strong immunity. but what do we do if this healthiest food becomes poisonous food due to some adulterant?

Not every person goes to a food lab for checking milk if milk is adulterated or not. so what do we do ???

don't worry today I will tell you how to check the adulteration in milk at home just by a simple method

  1. how to detect water in milk

put a drop of milk on a clean polished slant surface. then you can see pure milk flows slowly or leave a whitetail behind it. while a water adulterated milk flow immediately and never leaves behind a whitetail.

2. Detergent detection in milk

take 10ml of milk with the same amount of water in a transparent glass then shake it thoroughly if milk is adulterated with detergent then it appears the dense form layer of leather if milk is pure then the layer appears very thin due to agitation.

3. detect starch in milk and milk products like khoya, panner, etc.

take 2-3 ml sample and add approx. 5 ml water

note-:here you can take samples as milk and milk products like chenna, khoya, paneer, etc.

then boil the solution and cool it.

then add 2-3 drops of tincture of iodine.

then you can see appearing of blue color indicating the presence of starch in milk and milk products.

4. Adulteration of mashed potato, and other starch in ghee/butter,

First of all, take half a teaspoon of the sample( butter/ghee).

remember that take the sample in a transparent bowl.

add 2-3 drops of tincture of iodine.

and again blue color appear which indicating the presence of starch ( mashed potato, sweet potato, and other starch) in ghee/butter.

so, friends, these are very small and simple tests which you can do at home and detect the common adulteration in milk and milk products.
