Ultimate beauty of Kolkata is Victoria Memorial. Queen Victoria died in 1906, the construction of the monument in his memory began in Calcutta, the then capital of India. Construction of the Victoria Memorial was completed in 1921.This year marks the centenary of this monument. Many people called it by Taj Mahal of Kolkata. The Taj Mahal really bears a striking resemblances to this. Like the Taj Mahal , it is also built of Makrana marble from Rajasthan. Mallick Ghat is situated in Kolkata and it is the biggest flower market in Asia. It is located on the banks of hoogly river and very close to the Howrah Bridge. The market is operating on and around 125 years.
