Following are the steps to do so.
Starting with the first one make sure do the second step before the first one that is to engage with your audience before posting. Try replying to their comments or put up a story with engagement icons.
Next is to post. Try to make a schedule of posting. Prepare a content calendar note down your content strategy and post schedule. This will not only help you increase the engagement but also you will know the audience better. You will know your content works where and where not.
Next step is to remember is use all 30 hashtags while you post. Instagram has given an option so make use to the fullest. You never know which hashtags work out of the 30. So make sure you use all of them to the maximum limit. Note that keep changing your hashtags and have all updated ones do not repeat. Conduct a proper research, make a list of the hashtags that match your niche and use them alternatively.
Next is the most underrated step you can say. People usually don't know the power of a location tag. This tag actually brings in new people to your account so make sure you make use of the same.
Post stories using engagement icons as these icons get responses of your audience your account's activity increases. As you increase your activity more people response and eventually your engagement from zero increases to something.
Next is post 4-5 stories regularly. Do not spam and put out invaluable content. Make sure you put up valuable and knowledgeable content. Your audience will eventually notice that content you put up in your stories is not just to swipe but actually helpful. And the next time they will eagerly wait for your next post.
Last but not the least is use eye catchy headlines in your videos or in captions. Your headline should be attractive enough to get the audience to click on your post from thousands other. And then your caption should be informative enough so the time your audience spent on your post was not wasted. It was of some use to them.
