How To Give A "Tadkaa" To Your Daal In Gujju Style

Hello and welcome back every one. So today I am going to share my experience of learning how to give a Tadkaa to your Daal. I learnt this thing today itself and thought of sharing the experience and learning from it.

Directly starting with the process you will take the cooked Dal out from the cooker. Next step is to grind it with the grinder. Make sure your grinder is touched to the surface while you grind or you can create a mess if the Daal starts spilling out of the bowl.

Once the Daal is grinded well into a liquid form keep it on the gas on a low-medium flame. Meanwhile you also have to to heat some oil in another vessel which your mom uses for giving a tadka. Let the oil get heated in that vessel and till then you have to be ready with the following INDGRIDIENTS which will go into the Daal.

  • Salt.
  • Green chilli mixture.
  • Jaggery.
  • Turmeric.
  • Water.

Now add these things in the reverse order.

  • Pour half glass/cup of water to make tha Daal little thin.
  • Add Turmeric for yellow colour and for health matter too.
  • Add a hand full or small pice of jaggery for sweet flavour.
  • Add one spoon of the green chilli mixture.
  • Add salt as per taste.

After adding all these ingredients give it a good stir and let it be cooked for more 1 minute until it starts getting boil.

Now turn of the gas with Daal on it. While the oil will be heated in the other vessel so you may add some RAI and HING POWDER to it. It will give a crackling sound and turn off the gas instantly. Pick up that vessel with a tong and place that vessel into the Daal vessel and cover it with the lid, or you can even pour it from the top whatever you are comfortable with.

Note* if you are doing this for the first time be careful you don't get Burn.

Rest is easy. Also many of you might know how to do this but my blog is for those who don't know or even for  guys who are into cooking. And even if they are not there's no harm in learning because you can also help your mom/wife in future.

So ya this was it guys this is how you make a daal and give it a tadka in gujju style.

Thank you so much for staying up till the end. Will be back with something new till then take care and stay safe πŸ’•πŸ’•
