This year I am turning 18. This stage reminds me that I am getting matured and a lot of responsibilities are awaiting me. There are many opportunities in future that I will have to grab. I'll have to talk more sensibly, logically, gently and patiently.
The most important is I will enjoy my right of Universal Adult Franchise i.e, my voting right. I am very excited about it. For the first time I'll be voting to elect my representative. Being a responsible youth of India I'll vote for the right representative. My vote can surely make a difference.
Till date what I have seen is that citizens of India have been using this right regularly. But here arises a question in my mind that ''Have they used it responsibly?" Did they vote the right person? Did these elected representatives fulfill their aspirations and demands?
During elections, we see the sweetest of these politicians but after being elected they just turn as bitter as the Karela Juice.
So I have decided that whichever candidate comes in my area asking for votes, I'll ask the following questions:
(1.) Why should I vote for you ?
(2.) What are your plans and roadmap of development ?
(3.) What if you fail ?
(4.) What steps will you take for the safety of girls and women ?
(5.) What guarantee do you take that you will provide us the best medical facilities ?
(6.) What guarantee do you take children in our area will pursue good education ?
(7.) What are your steps on generating employment ?
(8.) What are your plans on how people get their basic needs at a reasonable price ?
These are questions that I'll ask . If our citizens also ask these questions to them, I am sure the fake representatives would be thrown out and the people with clear vision would work for the progress of our nation.
It's our right as well as our duty to give our country in the hands of responsible people who see development as the ultimate achievement. The representatives elected by us hold the supreme power, we must make it clear that it is not for misuse.
As a youngster, I wish more and more young people , well educated, innovative, sensible, wise and humble people with respect for everyone join politics. So, these are my questions and expectations from a candidate who desires to hold the supreme power
