It was last year when the lockdown was announced and soon after that the work-from- home culture started. Not only the freelancers but most people working from office had to embrace this new working culture soon after the pandemic struck.

Today I will discuss how the pandemic changed our work culture.

Positive side of Work from home 

1. The best part of work from home is its flexibility. Today we don't have to hurry for getting ready for our offices . 
2. We can do our important work along with our office work. Just a little bit of management is required. 
3. Working parents can spend time with their kids along with working. 
4. no time is wasted for travelling to and from office. That time we can relax and complete our important works. Productivity has increased due to this new working culture. 
5. There are days when there is not much work load , we can catch up with a movie on Ott or call our friends on video call and spend a nice time .
6. There was a huge problem of time while working from office. People could not give time to their wives and children and parents. Today due to this changed culture, there is so much time available to look after family. 
7. Before, the day before any project submission, a lot of time used to be spent in office. Sometimes employees had to return at midnight on the day before project submission. But today, that pressure is the same, but returning to home is not a pressure. You can nicely work from home  up to any time limit and also participate in household work.   

    8. The ‘ Monday blues’ are not there anymore.

Negative side of work from home

1.Its difficult to prepare the office environment at homes sometimes. This is because lack of space and children moving up and down. 

2. Then at the same time of your office time, your children might have online classes and your wife might have office presentation. So all are shouting at the same time, So this can create a real problem at times. 

3. then there can be network issues at home because its not your office, you get the local Wi-Fi service which might cause problem at times.

4. There is actually no division between week day and week off. Friday night has lost its charm.                                                                                         

These are the major pros and cons of the changed work culture. But at last I would want to say one thing.

The most important thing is the work and not from where you are working. As long as your work is going on fine, then it doesn't matter from where you are working. Actually there is no best place from where you can work without any hassle. So its just a mind set up.
