This weekend I had been to Mayapur, Iskon Temple. Today I would like to share the experience with everyone .
Day 1
From Kolkata to Mayapur:
The very first day was on the Bengali New year day or Poila Boisakh day. We got up early in the morning , say at about 4 am. Our planning was actually made on thurday 10 pm and soon after that we started paking our bags. Our baggage were the bare minimum. Only 2 small bags with our regular essentials. In the morning we took a bus to reach Sealdah station. WE took a local train from kolkata to Krishnanagar. Then from there we board a toto to Swarpganj Ghat where we took a boat to cross the river. Then after reaching on the other side of the ghat we again took a toto and reached the Iskcon temple. We had no hotel booking and all the premises hotel were already booked. So we had to wait in Gada bhawan inside Iskcon temple premises and look for a hotel outside. By that time we purchased our bhog ticket from Gada bhawan.
Soon we found a suitable room for us in a good hotel. We just went to the hotel , kept our bags and came back to Gada bhawan to have our lunch which was the BHOG served in the Iskcon temple. The bhog was awesome vegeterian dishes which was highly appreciated by us.
One thing to remind you. Its terrific hot in Mayapure right now, so carrying an umbrella and having some coconut water is a must .
That evening we went to the main mandir and watched the prayer sessions in the evening. We came back to our hotel by 8 pm that night as I had my online musical program celebrating the Poila Boisakh. It was an awesome experience to attain a program from Mayapur. The mobile data was awesome and we enjoyed a lot that night with the blessings of Radha Krishna.
Day 2-
Total visit to Iskcon premises
On Saturday morning we got up early at 4 am, got ready and went to see the morning Mangal Arti. This was a lovely experience . The morning was so full of spirituality and refreshment. I felt so soothing with the surrounding out there. Birds were chirping, beautiful flowers all around, people chanting all round. It was a total atmosphere of peace and healing. It was such a heavenly experience of mine. I don't know why I was getting healed and the answers of many questions in my life were being answered by God. I don't if this was the charisma of the holiness around but my mind and soul got healed after visiting this place. I don't know if this happens with everyone but it definitely changed my way of thinking. (I would share another blog on this )
Then we visited to the Mayapur market, museum and the 3-d theatre, goshaala, and few other temples around there.
So many people were dancing with the rhythm of Hare Rama Hare Krishna and this spiritual dance actually rejuvenated our soul. We joined the bhajan and chanting and the environment was so pleasant that my heart was completely filled.
Day-3
Nabadwip visit ( birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu)
On the third day we left our hotel at 9am and crossed the river in a steamer launch and reached Nabadwip. Now this was another very holy place filled with lots and lots of temples.
We visited all the temples and we went to the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. An awesome experience out there because these placers are still having the charm of Indian heritage and not so much of commercialisation. A wonderful peaceful place .
Now we hired a toto from the steamer ghat and did the temples visit by that and reached the Nabadwip station after the visit. We also took some bhog from the temple and shopped the traditional things available there.
Then we took a local train from Nabadwip to Bandel junction. It was a one hour journey and a pleasant train ride.
From Bandel we took another local train and reached Howrah station within 1.5 hr .
(In my next blog I would share all the practical learnings from this train ride. )
