Dharamshala Stadium
Before going to Aghanjar Mahadev temple we went for a walk from the war memorial to the stadium . On the way we enjoyed a beautiful ‘Sntara juice’ which the local people were making. This is a famous local drink in Himachal Pradesh. You cannot imagine how beautiful it tasted . Then we went to Dharamshala stadium. The most wonderful view of the highest stadium in the world.
All round the stadium is surrounded with snow clad mountain and in between that lies the stadium. Its a beautiful scenery. But we were not allowed to get inside. So we took some pictures and enjoyed the view and then went to the next place.
Chamunda Devi
This is a very beautiful place. When you enter the gate of the temple , you get to see the beautiful river flowing beside the entrance. The natural beauty of the place is very beautiful. We had to wait in the queue, maintaining social distancing and ofcourse wearing mask. The line in which we had to stand was a huge one. We waited for about 2 hours in the line before we got to enter the temple. But the weather and natural beauty around was so appealing that we enjoyed a lot.
Then we entered the temple and offered prayer with a basket of offerings and a Churni to the mother goddess' Chamunda Mai'.
We got a very tasty prasad from the priest who took our offerings. We had the prasad and walked ahead to find a ‘ Samsan’ or ‘cremation ground’ which was very empty at the time we went there.
Then we had a very special ‘ chhole mixture’ at that place spiced up with lemon leaf and green chilly. That was a wonderful treat to our tongue. Even after returning to our place we tried this street food dish ourselves and enjoyed a lot.
Jwaala Devi temple
This is one of the 'Sati peeth's where body part of Goddess Sati fell. offering prayer in this temple is considered to be very auspicious . We have waited in long queue even in this pandemic time and then we could offer prayers to the Goddess.
You have to walk for a long way from the entry gate and leave your shoes in the local shops and then come back. It was a wonderful experience to have offered prayers to goddess Sati. Much more exciting because we had not planned but we got to get the ‘ Darshan’ of the ‘ Devi’.
They say when God wants you very dearly you get to go for a ‘Darshan’ or visit a temple or a holy place without Gods consent you can never visit even if you try.
