DAY-2 -(24TH DECEMBER 2020)

We reached Delhi at about 11 A.M. on 24th December (thursday). Then from their we had our car waiting to take us to Shimla. The hotels, travel and local side seeing was the responsibility of this package tour. I will give you the details of the package and other details at the end of the blog. On the way to Shimla we had an awesome Aloo Parantha with butter and dahi. This recipe was the very very traditional ‘Aloo Parantha’ with a typical milk white butter ( this was the traditional butter made in Chandigarh & Punjab). And the 'Lassi' was truly out of the world.

On the way we also stopped our car to look at the “ Hariali Sarso ka kheth” This is where mustard plants are grown . This is something very special about Chandigarh , Punjab and Haryana states. We travelled in our car for the whole day starting from 11 a.m. in the morning to 12 p.m. at night . So you can well imagine its a 13 hours long journey . We also had a smaller baby with us. When we reached Shimla, the temperature was 0'degrees centigrade.

Day-3 (25th December 2020)

We got up early in the morning on 25th December after having a comfortable night with good food saved in our hotel rooms. (*it was too very cold in Shimla). Since we had reached at night so the eating areas were closed. And we were served food in our rooms. We were a team of three families. We had one master bedroom where we had our dinner together. The bed, bathroom, room and other facilities were so pleasant that after a long journey of 13 hours we had a wonderful night in

" the queen of hills”- Shimla.

Kufri

This place was an awesome place . As soon as  I reached there I bought a pair of gloves and a woolen cap made by the local people.

There are lots of adventure sports available in Kufri. Those sports are really very exciting. You will enjoy them thoroughly.

Tips(do's) One tip for budget visit and that is don't go for any package from outside . Take a horse ride to get into Kufri. The horse ride will cost you about 400 rupees but trust me, that money is worth it. Don't even try to go walking inti Kufri because that would be so tiring that you would not enjoy the inner adventures.

Four of us had taken the horse ride and we went there safely. When we got there I was feeling very very suffocating due to extreme cold and the height. So we carried a bottle of brandy with us which helped us a lot. I also carried glucose with me which was also helpful. you have to take the same horse for returning from kufri. This up and down horse ride together will cost you only rupees 400. When we got down at Kufri, we saw many many exciting things there. I will talk about them one by one.

  1. Yak Ride/ Photography

you can take the Yak ride for some 50 rupees if you want to. But most people were taking different poses by sitting on to the Yak . You can take some extremely fun filled photographs sitting on the Yak. There are props available too. You can take gun or cowboy hat or your own props to clickk some very good photographs. They will charge you some 20 rupees for sitting on the Yak. If you take your own selfie, its ok. But if you want to get those beautiful customized photographs you can buy them with some more rupees. So you decide your budget accordingly.

2. Walk to Kufri village

Kufri is a very fascinating place to visit. It has got different sections of entertainment. While walking to the Kufri village you will get to see many stalls where hand made wollen stuffs are sold. There is a huge variety of snacks in the way.

One fascinating thing you will get  there. Those are 'golis' or 'hajmis' which would help to prevent vomiting in the heights. We did some quick shopping because the price there is too reasonable. We could not shop much because we had to return on horse back , so too much of luggage would be of no help.

3.Selfie zone in the snow

Here we got to see a lot of snow where people were taking selfies with their beloved ones. We stopped to take some snaps wearing the Santa caps because it was the Christmas time.

Don'ts: Be careful of the solid snow out their. People were randomly falling badly on the snow. Some also hurting themselves.

4. Way to the adventure sports

This was here that we booked a small ride that is dropping people to the adventure sports section. Outside also you can book but its better and cheaper to book from this place. Then you can can save upto 200-300 rupees approximately. We booked the ride and we had to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes to get our ride. There is a huge queue in getting this ride because this is first cum first serve basis. So people you have to fight and get your place in the ride or else you have to keep waiting because no reservation is applicable here.

5.The adventure rides/ sports

a)Ziplining

This is one of the most fascinating adventure ride that I have ever come across. Here the person would be locked with security belts and you would have to travel across a line with an attached link with the zip. The distance varies . If you want to go for a long track you would have to pay more and if you want to go for a short ride then you got tpo pay less. And the most thrilling part is that you would be travelling from one peak to another peak.

Tips: Your weight has to be optimum in order to try for this kind of rides.

b) Rope climbing

Like how the millitary men do while their training courses , this ride is nothing exceptional. Mind you guys , this is the most difficult activity although it might appear to be very very simple. And it is advisable not to try if you are not comfortable.

c) Free falling

Here you have to walk on the ropes for about some 20 metres and then you have to leave all the supports and just try a free fall. This is very adventurous and the feel you get for a free fall is mind blowing experience.

Tips: It is advisable not to try if you have heart problem or other physical issues.

d) Couple ziplining

In this ride you are allowed to get a companion of your choice with you which is somewhat good for people who want some companion . These ride is also less expensive and less distant.

6.Viewpoint to see the Kufri village

Here you get to see the entire Kufri village with mountains around. A very beautiful view you get to see from here. We went there in December so we were playing with snow balls. We enjoyed thoroughly over here. This is because we came across snow for the first time in this particular tour.
