We all feel thirsty. We all feel discomfort due to scorching hot weather we live in.The only thing we look for then is chilled drinking water.
Water is as important in our life as air and food. The survival of every living thing on earth depends on water. Any type of creature be it plant or animal depends on water for living.
70 % of our earth is covered with water where 2.5% is fresh water out of which only 1.2 % is drinkable. So now we must rethink what amount of water is available for consumption.
Several studies have suggested that by 2050 , the Earth's storage of fresh water will get exhausted because ground water level of earth is going down rapidly each day.
Due to the impact of industrialization, urbanisation and green house effect, the earth is getting warm and this is leading to shortage of water. Many developed cities around the world have already started facing issues of water shortage.
Urbanisation requires deforestation which means large scale cutting down of trees. This results in lack of rain because water cycle is largely affected due to lack of trees because in water cycle water evaporates from Earth's surface and rises into the atmosphere and helps in formation of cloud. This makes the atmosphere cool by bringing rain in timely manner.
Those living in areas where there is river flowing nearby or those getting access to drinkable ground water can consider themselves luckiest as of now because they don't need to face the consequences of shortage of water supply.
But this no way means that they are not going to face the problem in near future. The next generation will surely face massive shortage of water.
So we must consider our next generation and save water for them. We are getting water in its purest form in the form of rain and so must do something now so that the future is not deprived of the basic necessity. Rain water harvesting is one of the best method of storing water.
Technological advancement has made it possible to convert salty sea water into drinking water. That is certainly a relief but this method of converting requires lots of resources and so is a very expensive process. So we must look for a cheaper and more easier way.
We are wasting water by leaving tap on when not using, during shower and various unnoticed ways. So we must stop this small small things and think now about conservation of water.
Without water our mother Earth will get converted into a barren desert and living in it will be almost impossible. To save the greater human life on earth we must start saving water now.
