Chicken Kofta Curry(chicken Balls Curry)

CHICKEN KOFTA CURRY

A delicious chicken balls curry made with minced chicken, ginger, garlic, coriander leaf, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and steamed cooked in a indian spicy curry.

Peparation Time: 15mins       Cook Time: 30 mins        Total Time: 45 mins

Lets start our recipe

INGREDIENTS : 

FOR CHICKEN BALLS

  • 1 lb chicken ground
  • 2tbsp rice flour
  • 1/2 inch ginger : finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves : finely chopped
  • 1small green chilli : finely chopped
  • coriander chop handful
  • 1/8 tso turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp oil
  • salt to taste

FOR GRAVY

  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 2tsp grated coconut
  • 1/4 inch ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 3 tomatoes puree
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp garam masala
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • coriander chop for garnish

COOKING METHOD

  1. . Roast grated coconut in a heavy bottom pan on medium low heat for 2 minutes. Take out in a bowl, Keep the coconut aside. In the same pan, add oil and sauté thinly sliced onions until they turn golden brown on medium low heat. 
  2. While the onions are browning, An other hand take another pan add 1tbsp oil, lets heat oil on medium flame, then add finely chopped ginger and garlic wait until golden brown, off the flame and add green chilli mix it. Let add in chicken mince, coriander also. Mix it with the minced chicken, turmeric, red chili powder, rice flour and salt to taste. Apply oil to palms and make balls about the size of small limes and keep aside. 
  3. Take the browned onions out of the pan. Make fine paste of roasted coconut, browned onions, ginger, garlic and coriander
  4. . Heat oil in the same pan and add the masala paste and pureed tomatoes to it. Cook on medium heat for 5-7 mins. Add red chili powder, garam masala and turmeric. Add salt to taste, mix well and add 3/4 cup of water and mix well. After the gravy comes to another boil, arrange the mince balls on top of the gravy. Cover and cook on low-medium for 10 mins. 
  5. Stir gently and cook another 5 mins. Garnish with chopped coriander
  6. Serve with steamed basmati rice
  7. you can serve with also indian breads.
