Dev Deepawali: Diwali Of Gods

Hi  guys in this blog I talked about Dev Deepawali

The Hindu festival  of Dev Deepawali, also known as Dev Diwali, occurs on the full moon night of the Kartika month. This year's event is on November 7. This festival follows the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, by 15 days. What distinguishes Dev Deepawali from Diwali? Dev Deepawali is the festival of the gods; Diwali is for ordinary humans. Varanasi, one of the holiest places in Hindu mythology, is where it takes place.

Hindus think that the gods celebrate Lord Shiva's triumph over the demonic Tripurasura on this day. The ghats (steps) of Varanasi are illuminated by devotees with a million earthen lights. The moonlight, however, is far superior to that of the lighting. Every year, the full moon night of the Hindu month falls on the day of Dev Deepawali.

HISTORY OF DEV DEEPAWALI

Most people are aware of Diwali, a Hindu festival celebrated in India. Diwali commemorates Lord Rama's return from exile with his wife Sita and brother Laxman after 14 years. They return triumphant after defeating the demon Ravana. Diwali is one of the most important festivals in India. People use diyas (earthen lamps) and lights to illuminate their homes. Eating mithai or sweets is the order of the day, as are many food and card (taash) parties.

Dev Deepawali is 15 days later, so the festivities continue. It's the Diwali of the Gods, also known as 'Kartik Purnima.' To experience the festival's serenity, one must visit Varanasi's ghats. Thousands of lamps illuminate the steps, and their light

HOW TO LOOK FOR DEV DEEPAWALI

  • Go to Varanasi.
Make a trip to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, to make the most of the festival. Don't miss Arti, a magical evening where people offer incense and light to deities.
  • Read up
Curious but unsure where to begin? Pick up a mythology book to learn about Hindu gods, goddesses, and demons.
  • Turn on some lamps.
Dev Deepawali commemorates the triumph of good over evil. That's reason to rejoice, wherever you are. If you can't make it to Varanasi, light candles or lamps to live vicariously through it.

WHY IS DEV DEEPAWALI IMPORTANT?

  • More peaceful than Diwali
While Diwali is known as the festival of lights, it has also become known as the festival of noise over the years. Dev Deepawali, on the other hand, appears to be all about light. There are no fireworks or air pollution, just the peace and quiet of thousands of lamps.
  • The presence of earthen lamps
Fairy lights are fantastic. Few things, however, can compete with the sight of a serenely flaming diya. Hundreds of burning diyas on steps leading to a river? That is the stuff of dreams.
  • A compelling reason to visit Varanasi
Dev Deepawali is an excellent opportunity to visit one of India's holiest cities. Varanasi is the epicentre of Hindu culture, history, and legend.
