When the Pinarayi Vijayan government came to power, it was a promise that the files would no longer be red tape. But due to the same red tape, seven persons belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes are wandering from office to office seeking benefits even after getting pension. 1989 P.S.C. According to the notification, these seven people, who were employed as Block Development Officers, have to tell the story of 11 years of denial of justice. These Block Development Officers are still moving from office to office for promotion and perks even though the Supreme Court has ruled that they deserve it.
They were appointed as BDOs in 1996 and promoted to Senior BDOs. 2000 with Assistant Development Commissioners as per priority list published in 1999. However, those who joined as BDOs through general recruitment in 1993 came against this. 48 people who had joined this job filed a petition in the High Court questioning this and got a favorable verdict. With this, the promotion process and other benefits of seven people belonging to Scheduled Tribes have been affected
Even after retirement, few BDOs including Premanandan are going to the offices for the benefits they are entitled to. "During the struggle, two people died without getting what they were entitled to. If they had received the promotion that was available, the pension amount would have been increased accordingly. We are not even getting the pension that we are entitled to," says Premanandan.
These seven persons entered the profession under the special recruitment for SC/ST categories. The remaining 43 people got in through general recruitment. They said that reservation should not be considered for promotion and seniority should not be looked at through special recruitment date.
They also complained that neither the government nor the service organizations even came forward to file an appeal against the High Court verdict which did not allow the weaker sections the promotion conditions that these seven persons were entitled to under the KS Anj SSR Act. They proceeded with all the matters of the case without getting anyone's help. They say that they contacted the service organizations to resolve the problem, but no one intervened. During this period, many pressures have to be faced from the authorities. Can't even remember it. They make it clear that this fight is not for generosity, but for rights
Economically not so good Most of these seven people come from Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste Colonies. A huge amount of money was spent on the case. They have a firm belief that they will go to the end of their efforts for the justice they deserve. Promotion award due from 2008 onwards. You should get financial benefits. Appropriate action should be taken against those who denied the rights. This is their demand.
