"How To Make Homemade Donuts Without An Oven."

One of my favorite donut recipes is also one of the easiest to make. I have tried it several times and it always comes out perfect. The taste is divine and the best part is that you don't need an oven to make it. Instead, you can make it in a frying pan.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Milk: Liquid activates the yeast.
  • Yeast: You can use active dry yeast or instant yeast. Using an instant yeast will make your rise time a little shorter.
  • Sugar: Sugar sweetens the doughnuts, but it also feeds the yeast, increases its activity, and tenderizes the dough.
  • Eggs: Eggs provide structure and flavor.
  • Butter: Melted butter promises enhanced flavor.
  • Salt and vanilla Extract: Both add flavor.
  • Flour: All-purpose flour is the dough’s structure. You’ll be tempted to add more and more flour as you mix the dough, but don’t. You want a very soft, pillowy dough for soft, pillowy doughnuts. The dough can still be slightly sticky. When kneading, use extra flour on your hands and work surface.

Please find the list of ingredients below:

- 210 ml of warm milk (3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoon of yeast
- 350 grams of bread flour
- salt
- butter

For toppings, you can use sprinkles, nuts, chocolate flakes/chips, or any other topping of your choice.

Prep time: 2.5 hours Cooking time: 10-15mins. Yield: 18 pieces of donuts .

PROCEDURE

STEP 1

To make the dough, start by taking a bowl and adding one egg, two tbsp of sugar, and three-fourth cup of warm milk. Mix the ingredients well until they are fully combined. After that, add two tsp of dry yeast to the mixture and stir again.

Close the lid of the bowl and keep it aside for around 5 to 10 minutes until the yeast becomes active. You can tell if the yeast has activated when small bubbles start to appear.

STEP 2

  • To begin, take another bowl and mix 3.5 cups of bread flour or maida along with 1 tsp of salt. Then, add the mixture of yeast into this bowl and start kneading it for some time until it forms the shape of dough. Next, add 50 grams of butter and continue to knead until the dough becomes stretched. It is essential to avoid over-kneading. Set the dough aside for 1 hour and let it rise. In a relatively warm environment, the dough should rise in about 90 minutes.

STEP 3

  • To prepare the donut dough, begin by punching it down and rolling it out over a wide surface. Next, form medium-sized balls or paddles, similar to how you would make a roti. Once you have shaped the dough, flatten each ball and create a hole in the center using a bottle cap. This should yield approximately 16 to 18 donuts. Set the donuts aside for 20 minutes, allowing the dough to rise again and achieve a fluffy texture.

STEP 4

  • Add oil to the frying pan and heat it. Deep-fry the donuts until they are golden brown

PREPARATION OF THE GLAZE

Here are three different glaze recipes that you can use to add some delicious flavor to your baked goods:

1. Sugar Glaze: Mix 1 cup of powdered sugar with 3 table spoon of milk (adding it in small parts) and 1/4 tsp of vanilla.

2. Strawberry Glaze: Mix 1 cup of powdered sugar with 3 tbsp of milk (adding it in small parts) and 3 tsp of strawberry flavoring.

3. Choco Glaze: Mix 30 grams of butter with 3/4 cup of sifted powdered sugar. Then add 1/2 cup of sifted cocoa powder and 6 tbsp of milk (adding it in small parts). Alternatively, you can use Nutella instead of cocoa powder.

FINAL STEP:

Transfer the doughnuts onto a plate and let them cool slightly before dipping them into the glaze. Then, add your desired toppings such as nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate chips.
