India is a country in South Asia. People revere Sati, Sabitri, Durga, and Laxmi as deities, despite the fact that violence against women is on the rise. Due to women's increased exposure in every sector of life, the amount of violence against them has increased by a factor of ten. Women were once confined to the four walls of their homes, but as a result of globalisation, women now have more opportunities and opportunities.
It's a good sign that society's patriarchal mindset has shifted to some level, but not to the amount that it should have. It is the same mindset that prevents women from going out and working, turning them into domesticated tools. It's the same mindset that considers males to be superior to females and constantly tries to dominate the female population.
The male-dominated society employs a variety of techniques to demonstrate their dominance over women. These weapons employed by men to demonstrate masculine dominance include eve teasing, sexual harassment, rape, and domestic abuse against women. This is one of the main reasons why violence is on the rise in India, and women's safety is a major worry.
Along with the mindset, the slow pace of operation of the Indian judiciary is another key factor contributing to the increased safety of women in India. The Indian police force is inefficient and biassed, which is why investigations into allegations of domestic abuse against women take so long. Many women did not come forward and report the incident to the authorities because of social pressure and humiliation.
Rapes occur on a daily basis, which is a pity. Rape is a sickness that spreads from person to person. It is a heinous crime that knows no bounds. It can be found in every corner of the globe. It makes no distinction between a 3-year-old child and an 80-year-old woman. Rape and harassment have become the norm everywhere from parties to workplaces to our homes. The victims of these horrible atrocities are the surviving.
The first step in improving women's safety in India is to increase the number of women in all aspects of society. Furthermore, for the safety of women, a shift in people's mindset is critical. Men should be educated to respect women from their families to their schools. Furthermore, fast-track courts should hear the cases, and the cases should be investigated in a timely manner.
