5 Ways To Give Kids Feedback On Improvement.

Well, life can be hard sometimes and it is really easy for everyone to misunderstand genuine concern with an attempt to be controlling. Most often people, specially kids do not know how to handle constructive criticism or necessary feedback. Here are 5 different ways to give kids feedback on improvement in the best way possible.

(1) Be positive- Always try to react with the positive thoughts that you have in your mind. Just know that the universe is always listening and negative comments or thoughts are not appreciated even when the intention is right. In spite of saying “Don't go to school without completing your homework” say “Always go to your school with completed homework”. This brings out a positive response from children and will bring out significant change in your child.

(2) Be considerate to the child's feelings- Just like us adults, every child is different and special in their own way. You will never find two children with the exact same personality. Feedbacks must vary from your end all the time, because some child may be more sensitive than the other, and the other may be a little tougher than others. Blend yourself with the mind of the child and think the way a child would in order to deliver a better feedback that will be effective.

(3) Self feedback- Feedback does not necessarily mean that you need to give an advice or a statement, with kids it is different all the time. It is their growing age and it is necessary for adults to give kids a chance for self reflection and self conclusion. This will undoubtedly enhance the mindset of a child and they will learn to land with better decisions in future. For example, if they score less in any exam, instead of saying “You could have done better” as them “Do you think the result could have been better? What can you do to change your mistake next time?” This will not only bring out a sense of responsibility within the kids but also help them to understand life  better

(4) Don't overload feedbacks- This might get a little overwhelming for anyone to receive feedbacks almost all the time. Make your feedbacks limited or else the more feedback that you give, the more diluted their effect becomes.

(5) Be kind- Children are great imitators, so whichever feedback that you give, you will somehow be shaping the child's personality and values in the longer run. So, always be kind and let the kid be a person of value when they grow up, because when we interact with people , they hardly remember about what clothes we wore or what smartphone we have, what they do remember is our behavior and how we made them feel. Hence, inculcate the kindness in your child and let them flourish!

I hope this has been helpful, see you guys in the next blog
