Now-a-days boosting immunity is of great importance for everyone of us. We are trying to follow a good diet plan so that our immune system gets more strong and save ourselves from diseases and infections.

                                  Making small changes in diet can help in reducing chances of various types of diseases like- Obesity, Diabetes, Bad Gut Health and many other communicable diseases. Adding certain foods in your routine will help in improving immunity as well as your mental well being also. Food you may add to your diet are as follows:

  • Kiwi:  Kiwis are naturally full of so many nutrients like folate, potassium, Vitamin C and Vitamin K. Presence of Vitamin C helps in boosting the white blood cells to fight against infection and other nutrients helps in proper functioning of body.
  • Yogurt: Yogurt contains lot of calcium that is needed for bones and teeth. Just one cup of yogurt intake provides 49% of calcium that body needs. It is rich in Vitamin B12 and riboflavin both of which protects from various heart diseases. Yogurt is best for digestion as people who have weak digestive system and have certain digestion issues must have it once a day for better digestion.
  • Sprouts: Sprouts are nutritional powerhouses as they are low in calories and rich in nutrients. Those who can digest raw food easily can add  sprouts in their diet as fiber contained in sprouts helps in digesting food more easily. You can prepare them by adding lemon, onion, tomato, rock salt and amchoor powder for better taste.
  • Citrus Fruits: Fruits like oranges, lemon grapefruit, clementines, limes can be taken because these are rich in Vitamin C which helps in increasing the production of white blood cells that helps in fighting with infection. It is better to take natural fruits rather than having Vitamin C supplements.
  • Garlic: Garlic is basically used to add zing to food we are preparing but these small cloves are full of medicinal properties. It is low in calories and rich in vitamins like B6, C and manganese. It contains immune boosting properties which helps in fighting infections.
  • Ginger: Ginger is almost used in every kitchen right from preparing food to ginger tea or for treating cough and cold. Ginger usually helps in decreasing inflammation which can help in reducing sore throat and inflammatory illnesses. Consuming ginger helps in reducing gas and improving digestion.
  • Turmeric: Turmeric is the main ingredient in almost all the curries in our kitchen. Curcumin present in turmeric helps in prevention of heart diseases, decrease in swallowing and helps in fighting inflammation and keeps blood sugar steady. Intake of turmeric in hot milk also serves as powerful anti-oxidant that protect body from free radicals.
