This is Anne penning, down my own experiences that has happened in my life between the age of 18 to 25. From the moment I turned 18, life seemed like a whirlwind of possibilities and challenges that was very different from my schooling days. I embarked on my journey into adulthood with excitement and trepidation, eager to carve out my path in the world.
One of the defining aspects of this period was my pursuit of a career in psychology. It was my passion, my calling. I threw myself into my studies, devouring every bit of knowledge I could get my hands on. The thrill of helping others understand themselves and navigate life's complexities fueled my determination. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. The pressure to excel in academia sometimes felt overwhelming, and there were moments when self-doubt crept in. Balancing coursework, internships, and personal life tested my resilience, but with each hurdle I overcame, I emerged stronger and more determined than ever.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of pursuing my dreams, my family faced a profound challenge. My father was diagnosed with cancer (stage 3). The news rocked our world, casting a shadow of fear and uncertainty over everything. Suddenly, my priorities shifted. I became not just a student or a budding psychologist but also a pillar of support for my family. Watching my father battle the disease was both heartbreaking and inspiring. It taught me the true value of resilience, love, and cherishing every moment we have with our loved ones.
In the midst of personal and professional upheaval, friendships played a crucial role in my life and so did love. I was fortunate to have friends and true love who stood by me through thick and thin, offering support, laughter, and a shoulder to lean on when times got tough. Their unwavering presence reminded me that I was never alone, even in the darkest of times. However, not all friendships stood the test of time. Some revealed their true colors, showing themselves to be shallow or opportunistic. These experiences, though painful, were valuable lessons in discernment and self-preservation for me.
As I reflect on the rollercoaster ride that has been my life from 18 to 25, I am filled with gratitude for the highs, humility in the face of the lows, and a sense of purpose forged through adversity. Each experience, whether positive or negative, has shaped me into the person I am today—a resilient, compassionate, and ever-evolving individual ready to face whatever life throws my way. I'm so proud and grateful for where I stand today and now, I look at those challenges as important milestones that has shaped me to the person I am today. Honesty, before 18, I did not know to board a bus. I knew nothing expect my family and friends and little heartbreaks from them was my life's biggest problems. Now, I am standing at the airport ready to fly abroad and take up all my family responsibilities. I feel all of us should feel proud give a pat for ourselves because all of us have different set of challenges and all of us are pushing ourselves to make through! Proud of you all!
