Life Lessons - Part 1

In the childhood when everyone was watching Harry Potter and other cartoons for their time pass, my childhood was filled with my silent partner, loneliness. The childhood was filled with no friendship and not much of any entertainments; but was uniquely exciting with its loneliness factor. At that point of time, the family income was barely noticeable and the life was without much of a fuzz. But that life was enjoyable in its own fashion and with limited facilities.

The schooling was done in the locality and was fortunate enough to get good friends and teachers who remains an integral part  of my life even now. Their guidance and directions are my driving force to remain grounded at any point.

After those days of financial stress and shrinkage in entertainment quotient, the goal of the life changed from being a good individual to an individual making sufficient amounts of money to lead a happy life. Those were days which provided a perspective that money will bring happiness and joy to our life.

But when I joined the course names “Chartered Accountancy”, my primary thought was like it's the path towards my monetary goals. But what followed after joining the course was entirely different.

There are 2 ways to access CA course- Direct entry route (i.e. after completion of graduation) and CPT(old)/Foundation route (which is much like an entrance exam). So I got through the CPT route and it wasn't tough at all and cracked it easily. But the real test began at the next level - Intermediate level. That was the level in which the taste of defeat was experienced for the first time in life.

The first time when the exam was failed, it wasn't so embarrassing since I knew it coming. I hadn't prepared much and it was as straight forward as that. But when attempted second time, I gave it my complete effort and when the result came, it was much of a shocker. The exam I thought of being passed has been ultimately failed. It was such a bitter moment in my life but what happened then was simply good.

That defeat was a testimony that no matter what you give cent percent effort on one thing, success may still evade you and that's the moment we have to approach cautiously. If its taken as a defeat and gone forward, it will be another thing in our lives. But if we take it as a motivation to work hard, it will lead you to new opportunities.
