Ways To Feel Energized If You're An Introvert

There is a common misconception that introverts are boring because they are quiet and more focused on their inner thoughts and feelings. An introvert is a person who avoids engaging in social interaction because it drains them out. This does not mean that they do not interact with human at all, it simply means that they prefer alone time over spending time with people. While extroverts engage in social activities to gain energy in situation that involve a lot of people and are energized with quiet and lone time. It is tough to be an introvert in a world that loves to stay social and active. However, introvert do not mind fighting the good fight because they have their own way of rejuvenating. Here are some ways to bounce back from a draining day if you're an introvert.

SPEND TIME WITH PETS

Probably one of the most fun ways to boost your energy, pets bring you a sense of comfort and belongingness that no human has the ability to. After a long day, it is perhaps one of the most rewarding ways to energize if you're an introvert. Talking your dog for a walk, throwing the ball around or simply cuddling with your pet leaves you feeling happy and refreshed.

FIND MUSIC THAT SOOTHES YOU

Correct me if i'm wrong but music is a huge part of every introvert's life. Most of the time, they have a specific genre that they love to listen to and it might be an “odd” one.  Do you know the kind of music that consumes you to a point where you lose yourself in it? That's the kind of music genre that every introvert needs to relax.

LEARN AN INSTRUMENT

Speaking of music, learning an instrument is another activity that introverts enjoy. With several youtube tutorials of different music classes, it is something that is easily accessible to everyone. Learning an instrument is great because it requires time, dedication and practice with a rewarding result.

READ A BOOK

Every ardent reader will relate to this one. Reading your favorite book is a great way to pass your time. It not only improves your creativity, imagination and vocabulary, but it also takes the edge off after a long hard day. Find your favorite genre and get on with the reading!

LEARN TO COOK

Another activity that is potentially therapeutic is cooking. Always wanted to learn how to make that favorite dish, here's your chance. The best part about learning how to cook is that you get to eat a tasty meal right after it if you dare, just kidding… Instant reward, am i right?

EXERCISE

For those of you who are thinking, “why would someone exercise after a long day”?, here's why. Exercise has been proven to release hormones such as dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins to boost your mental health. Some of you might be familiar with the term “runner's high” and we are here to tell you that it is a real thing! Studies have shown that it is a real thing! Studies have shown that physical activity improves the overall well-being of an individual, including physical and mental health

GARDENING

All you lovers of nature, this is the perfect activity for you. Growing a plant or many is another activity that boosts your mental health. Taking care of a plant is a responsibility and the more dedicated you are while doing it, the healthier the plant will grow. Watching it flower for the first time is a different high altogether. You should try it!

PAINTING

Have you heard of art therapy? It claims that painting or sketching stimulates your brain to relax you. It is known to reduce anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. even if you think you're bad at it, don't hold back from painting the town red. And the best thing about art is that it does not have to make sense to anyone else but you! Go on and grab those paintbrushes. 

DIY ACTIVITIES

With technology and easy access just a finger tap away, the internet has a wide range of DIY projects that you can immerse yourself with. Get your creative juices flowing by putting together simple scrap found around your house to make something interesting, useful or just simply artsy.

JOURNALING

After a long day, penning down your thoughts and feelings is a way to relax. It is said to improve your writing, gives you clarity of thoughts, boosts memory, and even relieves stress. It also helps acheive mindfulness.

BRAIN GAMES

Puzzle, sudoku, crosswords, chess and so many more games help increase brain activity and train your brain. Most people believe that these games are for children but they are exceptionally useful to adults to improve their mood. It is a great way to unwind after a draining day. You might even get so hooked on it that you lose track of time, so be warned!

All you introverts who are often shamed for not being social enough, more power to you! These activities not only relax you and help you but you also do not have to deal with the drama that comes with a lot of social interactions. Do you believe you're an introvert?
