Music is everyone's passion nowadays. many people like listening to music. many like listening to instruments. but trust me, it's more fun to yourself play something and let others judge it.

Today, I am going to tell u about the most common instruments i.e. a guitar. Guitar holds a major part in making a tune for a song. Many think they can attract girls towards themselves with their ability to play the guitar, though I don't find much truth in it. But anyway u can help out yourself with this article telling you everything about the guitar.

Types of guitars

  1. Acoustic guitar
  2. Electric guitar
  3. Classical guitar
  4. Flat top guitar
  5. Twelve-string guitar
  6. Archtop guitars
  7. Steel guitars
  8. Resonator guitars
  9. Acoustic bass guitars
  10. Electrifying bass guitars
  11. Double neck guitars
  12. Semi-acoustic guitar

Parts Of A Guitar

The body of the guitar is the main wooden part. The neck is the part that extends outward. The fingerboard runs along the neck and has the strings laid along with it. The fingerboard also has metal strips called frets, which guide your fingers when you press on the strings to play. At the tip of the neck is the headstock, which has pegs for tuning the strings. To strum a guitar, you usually use a triangle-shaped guitar pick.

When holding the guitar, you either need to sit down and support it with your legs or stand up and use a shoulder strap. To play the guitar, wrap your left fingers around the neck close to the headstock and use your right hand to strum it with the pick.

Parts Of A Guitar

  • The head or headstock is where you tune the guitar.
  • The neck is where you hold the guitar in your left hand (if you're right-handed) or your right hand (if you're left-handed). The neck is also where you press your fingers on the fretboard/fingerboard to create notes and chords.
  • The body is where you strum or pick the strings with your right hand (if you're right-handed) or your left hand (if you're left-handed).

The electric guitar (on the right) pictured above has what is called cutaways in its design - scoops where the neck meets the body. These allow you to reach the higher frets without obstruction from the body. Guitars can have one or two cutaways and acoustic guitars can also have them (typically electro-acoustics).
