Everyone knows shah Jahan he was a Romantic type king. Shah Jahan born in 5th  january 1592 at Lahore. His mother was Jagat Gosain and his childhood name was Khurram. He married Anjuman bano begum in 1612 brother was Noor jahan she later come to known as Mumtaz mahal which means we loved of the palace. Shah Jahan destroyed the Portuguese settlement at Humbli 1631. Shah jahan Period is considered as the golden age of Architecture and shah Jahan is known as the prince of Builder's. In 1631 he started the construction of Taj Mahal in memories of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and complete in 1653 it took 22 year to complete the structure the main architecture of the taj mahal was a Persian Architect Ustad Isa. In 1638 Shah Jahan built a new capital Shah Jhanabad in Delhi and shifted their capital from Agra to there. He also built the famous Jama Maszid. In 1639 he started the construction of red fort in delhi on the Model of Agra fort built by Akbar its construction was complete in 1648. The Diwan - i - am , Diwan -i- khas and the moti masjid are situated inside the red fort moti masjid in  Agra constructed by shah Jahan. He built the famous Peacock throne in which Kohinoor diamond was mounted. The Portuguese introduce Europian painting in India during the region of Shah Jahan. in 1658 shah Jahan was imprisoned by his Son Aurangzeb and he died in 1666 after eight year His daughter Jahan Ara was also kept in Prison along with him at Agra fort. French traveler Bernier and Tavernier and Italian traveler manuwi also visited India during shah Jahan Period. shah Jahan have a extraordinary talent of Military. In 1644 Shah Jahan commanding an army around 20 thousand soldiers and began the champagin against Mewar. he was a great and diplomatic ruler and Aurangzeb was a cruel ruler. When shah Jahan become ill in 1658 Dara shikoh (Mumtaz mahal elder son) assumed the role of regent in his father stead. Shah Jahan continued stricking coins in three metal gold silver and coper.  Shah Jahan also spelled sShahjahan and Shah Jehan. Shah Jahan has tree wife Mumtaz Mahal was his second wife he married with Mumtaz Mahal in 1612 and Mumtaz mahal died in 1631. she has been mother of  14 of his 16 childern.
