Hi all, thanks for supporting me though it was a very short period since I started writing blogs. I am a beginner at blogging and am happy that I have earned a few friends through this. My motive is to spread positivity as much as I can and promised myself to write up on topics that are optimistic. I have written about ways to bring positivity into our life with thoughts, habits, and practices.
Being an architect I would also like to let you all know about the ways to bring positivity into spaces around us. The spaces around us are the biggest influencer of our thoughts. Just like people whom we spent time with can influence our thoughts and energy, spaces around us can bring in energy and let out energy around us. Just think about certain circumstances like when you are in the classroom, or a park, or a theater, or a temple, or at home. Your mood is different at different places and you behave accordingly. There is even a theory about this and how different spaces with different colors, areas, sizes or shapes can differentiate the moods of a human being.
Out of all the different spaces we visit on a daily basis the most used one or the most time spent with is our home. So I'll suggest a few creative ideas to create a comfortable and attractive interior design for your house that in turn can help you bring in positive energy. There are various elements you can add at places in your home to generate positivity, I'll talk about it in another blog. In this one, I will completely tell you about Zen gardens.
The Japanese concept of zen gardens emphasizes the value of peace, calmness, and tranquility. Keep the philosophy ahead, the personal zen garden is a great way to find inner peace. It is a way of life that deals with stress reduction. It has both mental and psychological health benefits. Amidst our busy schedules in our lives, it brings us moments of peace for the time when we are at home.
1. Zen gardens use rocks and gravel or sand as their elements to recreate the essence of nature.
2. Adding a statue like Buddha figurines or Japanese lanterns can create a focal point and prominent central space.
3. Water, the sound of moving water can create a more soothing environment, and a Foundation or waterfall will help drown out urban noise.
4. Lighting, adding an aesthetic appeal through lights and illuminating certain prominent features can help set our mood right.
5. Plants, this is completely our choice and can be chosen completely according to our taste and what we prefer. But see to it that it doesn't dominate the hardscape used.
6. Seating, adding a seater space is completely one's personal choice. If you have enough space you can add a small seating space where you can meditate when needed.
Firstly, Zen gardens involve major elements of nature. When we take an effort to maintain a zen garden it takes your regular stress to concentrate on elements of nature, this itself is distressing. One can understand the Buddhist ideal of emptiness, in which the empty space filled with sand represents the unwanted anger, obstacles, and ignorance in our life and we can learn to deviate our focus from it.
