Should I Read Or Watch A Movie!!

What if I ask you, if you are given a chance do the role of your favorite character in a dream, would you rather play the role in the big screen version or in the world you created by yourself while getting lost into the pages of your favorite read?

I know this comparison is difficult. Both are great in their own ways but, let us discuss what comes in favor of a bibliophile and and what in favor of a cinephile considering the below points.

Literature on the left, cinema on the right -- There will always be a debate over the better way to tell a
story, but undoubtedly, they both have pros and cons that make the choice a personal preference.

Plot :When it comes into plots books give more freedom to the reader. We can imagine and build up the plot in our mind without the restriction of what is being shown in the frame.

Characters: While reading a book we understand the characters by what is written about them by the author himself/herself. There is no intervention of people who portrays them. So there is a dependency with who plays the role when it comes into cinema. The actor's physical appearance, mannerisms and definitely acting skills plays an import role in how the character is perceived by the viewer.

The Dan Brown Inferno Movie

Details: The limit of time and cost is very crucial for movies. And that is one of the reasons why films made inspired by books could not make as greater as that of the later.

Knowledge: Both movies and books are great knowledge sources. They are beneficial in improving vocabulary, imagination and wisdom of the reader/viewer. Also the content helps the audience to start thinking in a new perspective and to develop a change in attitude sometimes, for some people at least.

Entertainment: It's purely the choice of yours. Some people find peace in a cozy bed with a book and a cup of coffee while some other people love binge watching movies. If the entertainment value is taken up in the sense of volume of people entertained by the same, nowadays the people who read are comparatively lesser than those who prefer cinema.

Health Benefits: Reading strengthens your brain, increases your ability to empathize, reduces stress, aids in sleep readiness, fights depression symptoms and contributes to a longer life. Movies boost your immune system, reduces stress, bring families together etc. f there is a strict comparison, books definitely get this badge.

So in short, as the saying goes โ€œBooks and movies are like apples and oranges. They both are fruit, but taste completely differentโ€. Both help us see the world out of the box and let us live a thousand unalike lives of other people.

Thanks for reading!! Please do let me know some of your favorite books and movies in the comments so that we can read, watch, share and grow together!!
