Argentina won spectacularly against France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 thanks to Lionel Messi and his team. To mark Argentina's historic victory over France in Qatar, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) gathered.

The BCRA committee allegedly considered "jokingly" putting Lionel Messi's visage on the 1000 peso note, according to Argentine media sources, including those published by El Financiero. Following rumours and multiple images of Messi's face on banknotes doing the rounds on social media, the internet went absolutely nuts.
It should be mentioned that the BCRA had produced special edition coins to honour Argentina's World Cup victory in 1978. While there have been rumours that Messi's winning team would receive a similar homage, rumours of his image appearing on Argentina's peso notes now appear to be an overly enthusiastic interpretation of the Messi-fever by the country's football enthusiasts.

Argentina's team, captained by Messi, recently defeated France in the FIFA World Cup final 2022 in an exciting victory. Argentina defeated France 4-2 on penalties following a 3-3 stalemate.

Most news stories cite the financial journal El Financiero while discussing the news of Leo Messi being on Argentina's banknotes. Since it's crucial for officials that the number start with a "10," Lionel Messi's image was included on the 1,000 peso bill, according to the publication. There is a story on the claimed plot in their newspaper, but they claim it was "jokingly presented." Nevertheless, it was put out by the leaders of Argentina's Central Bank, which functions similarly to the RBI. According to the newspaper, the alternative was explored by the authorities before to the actual World Cup final. The most enthusiastic directors, including Lisandro Cleri, a devoted fan of Boca Juniors, and Eduardo Hecker, a supporter of Independiente, agreed that a banknote with this design would awaken the collecting spirit of Argentines, according to El Financiero. However, before you think otherwise, this option was "jokingly" proposed by members of the Argentine Central Bank.

The article also noted that the nation has previously produced commemorative coins.

Background: The BCRA produced commemorative coins for the Bicentennial and the 50th anniversary of Eva Perón's passing, as well as when Argentina won its first World Cup in 1978.

The idea was to put Leo Scaloni's nickname, "La Scaloneta," at the back of the 1,000 peso bill with Messi's face on it. And on the ticket's back? After their victory in the 2021 Copa América, the Finalissima (the game versus Italy, the most recent champion of the Euro), and Qatar 2022, "La Scaloneta" (the team managed by Leonel Scaloni), they claim, has already done enough merit to be immortalised there.
