When its usually comes about, talking about compliments , the first emotion or feeling we feel or perceive is a “GAIETY” one. But then it can differ from person to person ,it maybe be different for the person with high self esteem or worth ; likewise the other person residing into the capsule of low self esteem and self worth.
Compliments can feel uncomfortable.We crave validation and we want people to like us, but when others voice what they like about us,what we're wearing or how we carry ourselves, why is the KNEE-JERK reaction to cringe?To act dodging, Are we afraid of seeming like narcissists?. Maybe we don't want to come off cocky. But why should we punish the compliment largesser by denying such an act of kindness? after all loving our flaws comes first , accepting the way we are ; that's when we can appreciate and giving compliment to someone.
After having an insight about the fact of - receiving compliments & complimenting others, the compliment meaning is actually a loving gesture , welcoming , friendly bond which concrete's you and the other person. likewise complimenting others gives you a feeling of self content feeling, because we are full of self acceptance and love, I believe.Both of these criteria's don't come oozing; for some it maybe inbuilt, for few it takes year's of practicing or even an apocalypse.Not accepting is our way of maintaining and perpetuating our negative self talk, We reject the notion that we might be ‘actually good’.
