One of the famous song of Bollywood which every Indian can relate today is "JISKA MUJHE THA INTEJAR ;WO GHADI AAGYI AAGYI". But for this golden  period all Indians waited for longer 41 years, less than a half century. Today Indian Hockey team after 41 years has created history again by winning Bronze medal in Tokyo Olympic 2020.And the most happiest person after this win is the person behind the retrieving team is Mr. NAVIN PATNAIK, CM of Odisha.

As Hockey is our national sport and every country try to be best at its national game. India has also been the best in hockey in last 90s and how they shaped up themselves best in every big tournament whether its Olympic, Commonwealth etc. India is one of the most successful team in Hockey winning atleast 12 medals in total ;8 gold,1 silver and 3 Bronze medals. India won consecutive 6 gold medals in Hockey which is also a record for any country in itself. And the golden era of the Hockey came to an end with golden medal in Moscow Olympic in year 1980.And after 1984 Indian team wasn't able to qualify in top 5-6 teams which made India decline in every tournament. Major Dhyan Chand ,also known as Hockey Wizard or The magician of Hockey will always be remembered after a win in Hockey because this player took the Hockey to a different extent and motivated all Indians for hockey.

India was the one of the first non European countries to be a part of International Hockey Federation. India won its 1st Olympic gold medal in year 1928.In 2001 again the hope for Indian hockey team was seen because of “DHANRAJ PILLAI” but IHF wasn't able to carry this hope so far .During 2005-10, Indian Hockey Federation wasn't able to pay the salary to their players and which made Indian player disputed from the game and decline in Hockey started and Indian Hockey team ranking came to its lowest position. And when Sahara backed out from sponsoring the INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM in 2018 ,Odisha govt. signed a deal of RS.100cr to sponsor Men's and Women's hockey team for next 5 years. Later on Odisha govt. hosted a large number of hockey tournament in its state to encourage youth player .Odisha govt provided them a best salary and good infrastructure too for their health and fitness.

And later on slowly -slowly Team started grooming themselves and result was out in 2018 where Indian team won silver medal in Champions trophy, which also made India to rank up and presently they are 3rd in world ranking.  And the biggest achievement they got today after defeating Germany with(5-4) in Olympic. Though it was a tough match but Indians played and created the history. Every Indians are proud today on Indian hockey team leading by Captain Manpreet Singh. Congratulations team India..
