Hello everyone! hope you all are doing well. Here is my new blog I hope you all will like it. 

 Recently I have read a novel named Untouchables written by Mulk Raj Anand in which he describe the life of untouchables all the difficulties they have to face that they are excluded from social interaction they are not allowed to enter in the religious places , if mistakenly they touch anybody the touched person has to purify himself and re- schedule his whole day's activities. 

I  am sharing what I have read in the novel because I found that there is something different in this novel it tells us the reality of our society I am not saying that all are same .Today's society is not as much discriminatory as it was earlier. 

This novel is the story of a young able bodied hardworking sweeper boy Bakha, in Untouchables one day of his life is described where he met with various bad incidents and some good as well. 

Bakha's father is Lakha who is jemadar of all sweepers of the town, Bakha's mother is no more   Sohini  is his sister, Lakha is his younger brother. Chota and Ramcharan are his friends. 

Bakha was very much impressed by the the lifestyle of Britishers when he was in the British barracks regiment with his uncle he worked there for some years. 

Bakha and other outcasts used to live in the outcaste colony  which was separated from the town and cantonment by a boundry

Bakha's days begin with his father's rebuking him he was lying awake in morning his father asked him to get up and go to clean the toilets, he was thinking about his mother when she was alive she used to gave him various delicacies and she was concerned about her but now after her death he had to go to the work without eating anything. He was lost in thoughts and he suddenly he heard the voice of Havaldar charat singh who was calling him to clean the toilet for him. Bakha stood up and went away to clean the toilets where by seeing his work Charat singh promised him that he will give a new hockey to him he became very happy and after doing his job , he burnt the refused from toilets  in the chimney and went towards home because he was thirsty at home her sister told him there is no water at home and his sister Sohini took a pitcher and went way to the caste well and there she had to wait for someone from higher caste to come and pour water in her pitcher. Pandit Kallinath  poured some water in her pitcher and asked her to come and clean the courtyard of their home at temple  

 she came back to her home and prepared tea for her brothers and father. After having tea Lakha asked him that Bakha had to go to clean the street at his place because he was not well, and said that Lakha will  clean the toilets instead of Bakha, Sohini told his father what pandit asked her, Lakha allowed her to go and clean the courtyard . 

When Bakha was passing by the market he saw various colors in the market various shops and from the a shop of sweetmeat he bought some Jalebis , move in the market he mistakenly touched to a highcaste person that man created a scene in the market and slapped Bakha ,Bakha felt very angry and sad. This was the first incident  that happened with him that day, in the market after it he moved towards the street to clean near temple where he saw pandit Kaalinath was shouting defiled, defiled  later on he came to know that he tried to molest Bakha's sister and when she make noises then the pandit started to blame her He was very angry at that time and wanted to kill him but her sister stopped him from doing so. After that he went to begging food instead  of her sister  and there he was insulted by a lady. 

Bakha was very sad with all those incidents happened with him he went to his home again and told his father what had happened with him his father said that they are of high caste we can not say them anything then without having his launch went to his friend Ramcharan's house where he met with chota there, and they together went to play but seeing Bakha was sad chota asked him the reason then he told him what had happened with him , with her sister Sohini chota also felt very angry and said to Bakha that we will take revenge from priest. Bakha said that it is of no use because they are of higher caste. To change his mood they remind him that we have have hockey match in the evening then he recalled that Charat Singh promised him to give him a hockey stick and he went to Charat Singh's house  there he recieved a new hockey stick and he became happy with that and went to play hockey with his friends where because Bakha was a good player made his goal  and  Bakha's team was playing good the other team started to fight with them and from the rivalry team a young boy got injured Bakha took him to his house there the mother of that young child began to blame Bakha , Bakha became very sad and went to his home again where his father rebuked him , he ran from there and went near a tree sat under it's shadow where he met with General of British Army , Colonel Hutchinson , when he asked Bakha what had happened with him he told everything to the Colonel and he told Bakha to go to Church with him and to change his religion because there was nothing like untouchability in their religion he said. When Bakha reached to the church with him his wife scolded him that again he bring a black person ,  after listening her Bakha felt very sad , he ran away from there and reached to a railway station where is came to know about Mahatma Gandhi and listen Gandhi's speech that all are equal , we should not discriminate with the people on the basis of their caste, colour. After the speech the people who were there began to discuss about the speech of Gandhiji and there was a lawyer and a poet they were talking about the flush system, when Bakha heard that he became very happy  and wanted to gave that news to his father in order to do that he ran towards his house.
