“God himself, sir, does not propose to judge man, until the end of his days, why should you and I?"
'How to win friends and influence people' by Dale Carnegie was first published in 1936. Since then, changes have been made to make the book adaptable for the current generation.
There are 30 chapters divided into 4 parts which advices you on ways to make people like you, ways to win people to your way of not thinking, ways to change people without arousing resentment, ways to get your work done by people without making them feel bad about doing it.
Carnegie has explained different aspects that humans tend to go through everyday and he has done so with real life examples, quotes and hypothetical situations that every individual can relate to.
There are times when we are criticized, belittled and there are times when we criticize, belittle others.
Imagine all those times when you wanted to get something done from someone but they just won't cooperate. Frustrating, right?
Remember that time when the stranger you met outside smiled for no apparent reason?
Remember that one time you lost an argument because you couldn't keep your temper in check?
When was the last time you ridiculed someone for having an opinion that you didn't believe in? How is your relation with that person now?
When was the last time you said 'sorry'?
Have you ever considered different point of views for the same situation?
When was the last time you challenged someone or were challenged by someone? Do you remember the aftermath?
Do you know the art of criticizing? If not, do you want to learn it?
You love giving orders? Wonderful! Remember how you felt when you were ordered around?
Let's walk down the most embarrassing moment of your life.
All of these wonderful things are explained by Dale Carnegie in How to win friends and influence people.
Every being suffering from personhood should read this book atleast once in their lifetime.
The advices by Dale Carnegie are simple while one reads it but too difficult to execute in real life. It requires persistent practice.
But if you by any chance happen to master the tricks mentioned in the book then you will pretty much be successful in most of the things you do because you know what you are doing.
Personally, 85% of the title Is justified by Dale Carnegie.
