I have always liked reading books and sharing movie reviews, which I will be doing in my upcoming blogs. Today I will be telling you people about the first book I ever read and how it instantly made me a fan of this author. Living in a country like India, though most of your first books are bound to be school textbooks, luckily not for me. My first book was Ruskin Bond's omnibus, a book meant for children or even you can read it if you want to relive your amazing and blissful childhood. For those who don't know who is Ruskin Bond, he is a famous British author of Indian origin, His most famous works include “OUR TREES STILL GROW IN DEHRA”, for which he has received the Sahitya Academy award in 1992 and his very first novel “THE ROOM ON THE ROOF” a lonely made him a world-famous author.
Omnibus is basically a collection of most of his stories in one book and it alone is enough to carry you to a wonderland and make your childhood a one to remember, almost forgot to tell you this, if you really want to enjoy his books, then you must nature immensely, you know you must love jungles, trees, its branches, swings, moreover, you must love the village life immensely if you want to enjoy it, if you, on the other hand, if you are a city brat, then I suggest you to stay away from the book. The very first story is “The Blue Umbrella”, it is a story about this cute little girl and her umbrella, though after getting lost many times it still comes back to her, I really don't want to spoil your reading experience with more details. The next story is “The Angry River”, this story is about this small family that lives on a lonely island, this story is extremely good and makes you believe in god, whilst answering most of your questions on life and yes this is a book meant for children and my favorite among them is “The Cricket and The Crocodile”, this story is the funniest story among all of them and stands out uniquely in its story line
because a crocodile intercepting your cricket match does not happen daily. If you really want to enjoy this book to the fullest I suggest the readers choose a beautiful rainy day or read it on a rainy evening with a cup of tea and fritters alongside. You may feel like reading all the stories at once, but do not do so as it may snatch your suspense,
HAPPY READING :-) :-)
