Just like me, others would have criticized you too for choosing commerce in class 11 especially if you would have scored more than 80 or 90 percent in class 10. But there is no need for you to feel bad it is just the poor mentality of our society, not your fault.

Studying commerce for about two years helped me observe and figure out that certain useful skills get developed subconsciously for which you might see your friends taking paid courses and classes.

Now, let’s jump right into it and find out what are they.

1. Financial literacy

This is the most important skill in current times. As a commerce student, you not only learn to earn money but get ideas for investing and managing it too.

2. Planning

If you attended your lectures properly you must know that an entire chapter exists on this particular skill which helps you to understand the importance of planning, the kinds of a plan, and how to formulate flexible plans.

3. Management

The entire business studies syllabus of class 12 revolves around this particular topic and whether you pursue it in the future or not it has given you a foundation and awakened the inner manager in you which will help you to properly manage your time, money, etc.

4. Analyzing future trends

I have personally observed this thing that students my friends in commerce were better at analyzing the future trends more than others, they were certainly more aware than my friends in science stream where most of them just wanted to clear jee or neet just because others were doing it.

5. Problem-solving

Planning, organizing, and controlling if used carefully can help you to solve any problem in your work or personal life and give you better results.

Listing these skills should not be taken as an offence by students of other streams because this is my own experience and opinion and what I as an individual learned and wanted to share especially with those who see commerce as a wrong career option.
