I am a 3rd year student pursuing bachelors of Commerce from a reputed college in my city. Since it's a government college I had to work hard to get into it but what's more heartbreaking was I saw students scoring merely 52-65% easily get admission while for me 90% was less ,you must have understood why,so I am not diving deep into it. As I got admission and our session began I met different people and as I have this old habit of observing people I observed something. Most of the girls (since I'm in a girls college) here are not serious about life,no one cares about becoming something that makes their parents proud and it was a bit shocking for me because many students here don't have a very rich family background since this is a government college, reservation and BPL card helped most of them, and they behave as if they don't value it.On the contrary the students who had a rich background cared neither. The ones who were truly stressed about the future were the ones from an average family background.I saw these students attending classes regularly, submitting their assignments on time , doing online courses internships etc but they were the ones who got nothing in return neither benefits like reservation nor any scholarship. Is this the India of dreams? If the foundation of our future lies on inequality and injustice then it's surely doomed. Dr.B.R Ambedkar worked so hard to make education and livelihood possible for certain sections of society, but did he expect his people to undervalue this? The most populous countries in the world are India and China , though they don't seem to be on very good terms but the difference between the lifestyle, education and mindset of people is beyond measure. While Population is an asset for China for it India it's a liability. While Rural Population in China is busy in saving the traditional industries, the Indian youth in rural areas is busy in destroying the peak years of its life to the rattrap of Government exams. The ones with dreams in our country are crushed and abused and if it keeps happening that India will grow but only on papers. This is the reason why Israel, Singapore and China who got independence at the same as us are 100 years ahead while we are not able to properly teach saniation and hygiene to our citizens. Thanks for your time. I would like you to comment your opinion as well.
