How Are Board Exams Destroying Our Lives?

Spoiler: Sharmaji's son was hurt while writing this post.

Board exams or so-called board exams are considered the most important exams in our Indian society. These exams are used by our society to categorize us basically into two categories either useless or intelligent.

If you have completed your schooling then you would agree with me when I say that there is no difference between normal exams and board exams, except for the exam center and invigilators the exam is not as extraordinary as it is seen. Everything from syllabus to pattern is the same.

Unfortunately, if you fail or scoreless in this exam you will have to face a life full of embarrassment and constant bullying by relatives and neighbors, even if you manage to get a good job in the future you will be judged based on these exams. But the question is are they worth the hype they get? YES, I understand that studying for exams is very important but can your future and position in society should be influenced by this. The answer is a big NO. Judging a person based on exams can only give you an idea of his academic performance which is highly influenced by a person's interest, naturally, the students who enjoy studying score good, and those who enjoy other curricular activities score relatively less, this gives us an idea that every student has their interest and they can be experts in their respective field of interest so why everyone is judged on basis of one particular exam? In my personal experience, I have seen that all those toppers in my class were nothing but just mugging parrots who as per the stereotype chose science after class 10(some of them), while the students who were seen as good for nothing had an abundance of knowledge, some were great dancers, artists, and computer experts, etc. These were the minds with some of the most unique ideas and I won’t be amazed if I see them becoming more successful than those good ones because I know that their(so-called toppers) minds won’t go further than just entering the rat race which I have already talked about in one of my previous blog posts.

So, this is my humble request to stop judging others or even yourself on basis of the marks you score because you are something more than that but yes this doesn’t mean that you won’t study at all I am just telling you its okay to score less but that doesn’t mean that you should.

If you like this post then please share it with all sharmajis , mishrajis, and their sons so that they understand that boards can’t give someone a license to judge you or tag you, kindly consider following.
