One question that most of us are asked, ‘which do you like the most, school or college?’ But how do you even compare.
School gave the most amazing 14 years of your life (maybe some embarrassing and worse ones too, but still).School gave you the best friendships (and cheesy lovey-dovey stories too). Kudos to ‘friends since kinder garden’, 14-15 years of friendship is no joke. Take in a deep breath, wouldn't you give anything in this world, just to be in those corridors, classrooms and those restrooms that have, great a many secrets to tell.
School gave us mentors, who always reminded us , there is a life outside school with a lot more to face. But they did make it clear, no matter how scary it gets, no one can face your battles but you. All along the way, you will have self doubts, you will question your decisions and might question even your existence, but seriously, what could be worse than high school, right!? The late nights, the endless tests, the gossips, the rumors and the ever scrutinizing eyes, have given you only the confidence, patience and purpose to let go off what hurt you and to hold on to what you love and care about, the most
And after 14 tiring years you enter the so-called, ‘all fun no work’, college phase. Its more of ‘schedules-assignments-power points-deadlines and maybe a little fun' phase. Medical colleges are no exception. But I found the best people here, I had my first b'day party here, I loved every second of my 6 months at college. Curse the lockdowns, that gave me one year of solitude, which I for one, know , would have been a great start for the 5 year long journey ahead. College canteens are the best. Hostel life is a feather in the crown, though you miss home sometimes. Parent-teacher meetings can be a nightmare (worse than school) but valentine's day is a lot more fun, so it evens out. Hopefully, looking forward to more ‘embarrassing, jaw dropping and nerve racking’ post-lockdown college experiences.
School is the reason, where I am today, and college will take me to where I want to be. And in10 years time, if I am asked, is it school or college, it would be all about a beautiful journey down the memory lane. I would never trade one for the other.
So, what about you?
